I'm not going to continue the pi$$ing match going on here, but, would like to say CS has done a lot of good things and probably a lot of bad things.... I'm not going to list them either, but say we should all weigh the good vs. bad and then decide if you like him/love him/hate him,it's strictly a personal choice........ But just remember one thing,if it weren't for CS,we would not even be having this "discussion" or enjoying our cars......
BTW,I'll keep my opinion of CS to myself, enough people have voiced their's,there is no need to take up more space with my two cents worth...... I think I'll go take a nice long ride in my car now........... David |
Mr. Dickey:
Mr. Shelby's contribution to the racing and automobile world is "legendary"... His crooked, lying, cheating, scamming ways are "legendary" also! Mr. Shelby for the past three years has told everyone that will listen that he will put every "counterfeit" Cobra manufacturer out of buisness and everyone that owns one of these "counterfeit" Cobra's is stealing from him and his heart foundation. Oh yeah, that by the way includes the Unique you own. I don't think anyone on this forum wants to make Mr. Shelby out as a bad guy, he does it himself. The problem is the people on this forum that want to make him out to be this innocent victim. No one cares that he makes alot of money, just how he does it. |
Pluleazzz. The suit against the replica industry was ill advised. No doubt. He is a cranky old guy who re-entered the Cobra business on the wrong foot. Ok. So what. Thats over. He has done good also. SAI has since taken a much more concilatory tone. As to the "lawsuit" thing. Get over it. If not for him there wouldn't even be a Unique, ERA or any of the others. Your cars wouldn't even exist. Period. |

Shelby - as has been pointed out already - is legendary for a number of things, and not all of them are necessarily good, and as time goes on the "ill advised" things are outweighing the "good" things done for a short period during the sixties as it relates to the Cobra. His idiotic suit against the replica industry that he's trying so hard to be a part of isn't just ill-advised, it's part of the Shelby "legend." It's not "over." As far as speculating about what 'coulda' happened, you've already shown that you're cognitive abilities as a bit ... short sighted, so that already calls into question your ability to guess about what may or may not exist in a different timeline. Heck, the Cobra existed way before Shelby got involved and continued to exist well after he left the scene. And it will continue to exist without him in the future as well. You need to adjust your blinders. Your pal, Meat. |
OK
Enough. ...continue your bickering, if you must, ...elsewhere. Ron ClubCobra Moderator |
