Brent, you were certainly not out of line. If the guy really felt he'd made a mistake and subscribed to the wrong forum, all he had to do was say just that and request to be deleted. You would have complied without contest, I'm sure. But he had to "un-subscribe" by insulting basically every one of the 9000 members. You put the guy in his place, well done. I especially am glad you pointed out the fact that CC is about people. I'm sure this point escaped him completely, as in his tiny little universe, there ARE no other people.

Thanks for putting up with that crap and keeping CC rolling.

You came about as close to pleasing everyone as I think is possible. I believe this is the first thread I have read in a long time that everyone seems to agree the person was a jerk. Heck, even TURK seems to agree and that alone makes it an exceptional answer. :LOL:

I don't rile easy anymore but when I do I need to do something about it. Brent did an excellent job of handling the situation, excellent! I believe that I read that this individual served our country in the military. This is where I got riled, this person has forgotten what sets our country and military apart from everyone else... Esprit de Corp, take care of your men and get the job done, not be a self serving horse's patoot. I am a vet and I say HOOAH to all my brothers and sisters in the military and HOOAH to this community and those that run it!!! This also includes our very own in house gasholes that are known and loved :) Thanks for giving me the oppurtunity to express my opinion, Mr. Patoot can take a long hike off of a short pier!

Geez Brent -- I'm speechless -- Some guys never cease to amaze me. Believe it or not I get orders from guys like that sometimes. I usually tell them to go somewhere else -- you know you're not going to please them. It isn't original enough even though the same old guy is still pounding out the wheels at Moto-Lita. I can't believe someone would write that to you unless they had some big problems. I kind of feel sorry for him. Life probably isn't that good for him.

I didn't want to hop on the dog pile but I can't resist.

Three points:

First, Brent you were in no way out of line. You took the high road in your dealings with this "gentleman" and that is commendable.

Second, I have been frequenting this site daily since I first joined and I would venture to say that the majority of the members here, myself included, were alive and well when the car was introduced contrary to what this "gentleman" thinks.

Third, his statement "I hope your mother learns about this."

What the hell was that about? Hey, maybe it's just me, but I got the distinct impression that this guy thought that the members of this site are nothing more than a bunch of kids.

So what if everyone's grammar or spelling isn't perfect. Who cares? Those things have never been a requirement to participate here. I come here for the info and entertainment, not to judge anyone or to be judged. He obviously has a different idea of what this site should be about and who should be allowed to participate in it. I don't recall anyone here claiming to be an expert either. Well, this is America, let him start his own web site for snobs only. Whatever.

Eh, elitist jerks like him are just the type of people that I would avoid anyway. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Boy oh Boy, when you log on late at night you have to read a lot of stuff to see what is going on.

Some asked who the perp was but I think we have all met him, or his clone, at the car shows we participate in. He is the guy who thinks that a replica is some sub standard piece of junk. He can't see that most of the newer products are actually superior to the originals in the performance and safety issues.

To top that off the closest he probalby came to owning a Cobra was to want to buy a Corvette that a Cobra thrashed at the track.

I think back at the number of people that have asked if my car was an M-G, an Austin-Healey, a Trimph or some other fondly remembered "60s sports car that some one drove that they had a crush on and can't help but wonder if that is what he had a ride in at the ripe old age of 12.

If he knew anything about Cobras you would thint that he would have been on board trying to help some of the ones who have asking questions during their builds, especially the questions concerning originality.

At least one would expect that he would chime in and tell the rest of us that our responses were off base even if he didn't provide the correct information. This leaves me with the impression that he is so insecure about his claimed knowledge that he dosen't dare offer an opinion for fear that someone might disagree with him, and have the proof to back it up.

Reading his post, I have to agree that I didn't see any sign of high intellegence or a vast store of Cobra knownedge. Maby he is writing his memoirs and we can all reap the benifits after publication. Brent, has he asked you to write a dedication?

I spent several winters in Alaska during the Pipeline construction eara. I got involved in making belt buckles, after hours, to maintain some sanity and reduce the numbers of hours I could dedicate to the party scene. We came up with an award that I believe this person could likely qualify for.

We would present those deserving with a clear plastic belt buckle to enable them to see where they were going when they run around with their head so far up their a$$.

Equal in intelligence???

You did great with your response.....except with the part about being equal in intelligence with this BOZO. I would stake everything on the fact that your level of intelligence far exceeds his. Especially in matters of the Heart, which is what really counts in life.

Keep up the great work and please don't ever doubt the love that is felt for you here at CC.
