Dude: I think you need to register your tools with the police as dangerous weapons.

Tongue Pirate 01-17-2004 07:27 AM

Sweeeeet!

What does mine say?

Duuude!

You think I can get this guy to help with my setup? :o :D

James Baldwin 01-17-2004 07:54 AM

I wonder if it is too late to drill TWO holes in my "valve covers" to get TWICE the hp, dude? haha :o:LOL:

blykins 01-17-2004 07:59 AM

Where do I drill the hole in the radiator for my new Accusump? Inlet side or outlet?

392cobra 01-17-2004 08:08 AM

I'm starting to get the feeling that the ricer dude did his NOS install wrong.

Guess I need a new timing chain cover now. %/

rdorman 01-17-2004 09:41 AM

Oh my dear lord!!!!!!!!!

How did this guy even get a drivers license much less a job to buy the stuff?

Casaleenie, I am beginning to see what you mean by not mechanically inclined. Not that you would ever perform a stunt like this. Largely because you have the common sense to ask. But this guy lacks the mechanical inclination (in a BIG way) and the common sense. Dangerious combination. I would have never thought this level of incompitence even possible.

Some ricers by the way, are extremely technology savy. It is amazing what those guys can do with a < two liter $hitbox.

Still stunned.

Rick,

Such a good point. I'm not mechanically savvy enough to build a cobra on my own nor modify a stock honda motor with nitrous, but jesusmaryandjoseph! At least READ SOMETHING on the subject before you start drilling holes and jerking with your motor! Hello? McFly? Anyone there?

MT

rdorman 01-17-2004 10:43 AM

Thanks. I consider myself to be one of those 'if I can't fix it, then it wasn't broken' types. Grasping the idea that some one can not be taught or posess the faculties to self teach (expensive way) to work on cars in a compitent fashion and know when personal limits are reached was beyond my conprehension. Then I read the thread about this guy:LOL:

Some one should take his license away. He will kill some one eventually!

Rick

HeHeHe

I particularly like this picture drawn by another member to help the guy see his error.

427Aggie 01-17-2004 11:15 AM

And did you see his response to that picture...I put the line right in the red circle where you put that the NO should go...GOOD GOD tell me he was kidding? I am tempted to send this kid an email and see what kind of response I get...anyone up to the challenge?

Matt

rdorman 01-17-2004 11:31 AM

Saw that response. Still didn't get it did he. Judging from his posts in that thread I would have to say that he probably only ran the fuel line to the valve cover. The NOS line is clearly venting in the cockpit.

The graphics are great on that site that Boxhead posted....

clayfoushee 01-17-2004 12:33 PM

This is one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time, but it's also sad at the same time. I see too many kids who can't read something and comprehend the meaning. Our education system is just falling further and further behind.

Now, I better go change the oil in my SO. Should I put it directly in the radiator or in the overflow tank?

Excaliber 01-17-2004 12:39 PM

Hmmmm,,,,nitrous introduced to the inside of the engine. I wonder what impact that would have? Possibly not much? Here is the classic case of more money than brains.

....and I would NOT assume running a 100hp shot will "not hurt" the motor. That depends on HOW and WHEN you do it, does it have enough gasoline to mix with it, the timing is controlled precisly. UH,,,,,,you think he got all the other variables worked out?

No, No, No!

You guys are all missing it. This guy isn't some cretin who shouldn't even have keys, this is a gag! Its gotta be somebody who is pulling legs to see if anyone catches on instead of giving advise. This guy thinks it's fun to play games with people on a forum. I'm sure of it. The liturature from NOS I'm sure gives pretty explicit directions on where nitrous lines go to.
Steve Riley

rdorman 01-17-2004 01:16 PM

I still think he routed the NOS line into the drivers compartment!

Rick

Tongue Pirate 01-17-2004 03:10 PM

Man, I would be afraid to change my oil if I knew that little about a gas engine.

I once lived with a guy who though we should put silicone around the bottom of the bathroom cabinet because there was all of a sudden a substantial amount of water leaking out from underneath it. He actually though that would stop the leak. Maybe it's the same guy!?**)

decooney 01-17-2004 03:36 PM

A guy (short attention span and scatterbrained) in our local club did something about equally silly recently. He was runing late and rushing as usual to one of our group Cobras drives last Summer. He was on empty...stopped real quick for fuel on his way to meet us, talking to someone on his cell phone at the same time while filling up. Always on the phone in his car. He left the station and the car was barely warmed up. He sort of revved it up a bit exiting and shot out getting in front of another car. Within 5 seconds, he heard a loud bang and called us on his cell phone complaining about valvetrain noise and popping from the carb. Would barely run and stopped. He missed the drive with us and had the car flatbedded to the shop with no clue about what it could be. So we took a bit to figure it out. Hehehehe.

Guess what, Diesel doesn't run well in a Cobra!
