For those of you with Shell Valley cars...
What kind of motor mounts do I need to buy? I know the cars come with the mount already welded to the frame, but I need the rubber/solid part that bolts to the engine block, right? Do I need to buy a set that will work with a certain car, i.e. Mustang...or will any work?

You will need the mount that bolts to the block. I'm not sure what application they are from but the part # we use is Car Quest Part # 31-2342. I can cross reference that # for you if you need it.

Thanks a lot Dana. That's a big help. That was for a 351W, right?

motor mount question
Fellows, I must be misunderstanding something or missing some parts. I have a Shell Valley Kit and the mounts that are welded to the frame are horizontal plates with two sloted vertical holes in them. I am putting a small block Ford in it and bought the recommended Car Quest part number 31-2342 motor mounts. The problem is that the recommended mount for the engine, where it would normally attach to the frame of the car consists of two parallel vertical plates with two horizontal holes. How is one supposed to get the two together. Is there supposed to be another adapter or something to get the two together, or is this something I must make? Thanks.

Sounds like your frame is setup for a FE engine.

Hi Fellas,
I used the # FM12 from mitymounts.com. They have a lot less flex than the CarQuest ones. They are pricey though.
JL1924 You should have a couple of adapters from SV that look like a piece of angle iron with a tube welded on it.

motor mount, Shell Valley
Sydney,
Thanks, I have located the adapters. Had seen these before, but somehow thought it was part of an extra set of hinges or something. I appreciate the input. I am generally pleased with Shell Valley, but the manual leaves a lot to be desired. If I ever get this thing, together, I think I may have to put some effort into writing a more comprehensive one.

The Carquest 31-2342 worked great or me with a 351. They were $12.87 ea.
