xcobraj,

I was towing a 20 ft trailer witha Mustang, thats a 1000 lbs more than the Cobra, plus tools, tire, etc.

It was fine except in sever mountianous areas, like PA or NY State. You should be fine if you're only towing a Cobra.

xcobraj,

I'll second John's sentiments on the 5.4L Expedition and 20 foot Haulmark, as this is what I tow with right now. I've towed the BB Cobra over 1,500 miles with it, along with countless other "heavier" vehicles (it what I do as a sideline business). For your Cobra, I do not think you'll have any problems with it. Even long hills like the 80 west to 80/380 split are not bad provide you stay within the 60-70mph range and do not like to go over that on extreme steep climbs like that. I also highly suggest the equalizer hitch assembly with the sway control. I towed with just the equalizer hitch for all of last year, added the sway control (less than $80) this past month and have already towed 1,000 miles with it on....it's a night and day effect when it comes to running with the tractor trailers......Far more a solid feel than without it.........Just my two cents worth.........

Tom,picking up my new 20' enclosed trailer in P.A. on Monday thru Hill Equipment.Like you said they are great to do business with and for the price its not worth buying a 1 or 2 year old trailer. Thanks again for the lead and John thanks for your trailering advice really helped in the decision process.Joe

Towing 5.4

I towed my new 24" trailer(3900lbs) with a Winston Cup car(3400 lbs), a spare motor(400 lbs+?) 3 sets of extra wheels and tires and a host of othe stuff.
All with a 65,000 mile F-150 2wd with a superchip and no problem at 70-75 the whole way from Charlotte(620 miles)
Was it overweight? Probably by a lot but, I had no problem
