 RX,
That's a great question and I'm curious to see what the experts on this site say. As for my personal choice, I had a 460/545 making 700 bhp with a Blue Thunder single 4 barrel intake. Although I only used a Holley 950HP carb, it was more than enough. In fact, I substituted a friends 600 for my 950 while I was having the 950 blueprinted. The 600 was WAY more responsive than the 950 ever was. A lot more fun to drive and it broke the tires loose very easily compared to the more sluggish feeling 950. I guess my point is to stay as small as you can so that the motor is pulling the air at a higher speed (thus the better response). Obviously, too small would choke the motor.

 Best of luck,

 Charmer
