comparing drifting to drag racing is absurd.
drifting is like figure skating, subjective judging based on perceived style. a better comparison would be drifting vs. lowrider hopping
are there any sanctioning bodies for drifting?
what technological advancements have been gleamed from drifting?
what indicators of a car's performance are highlighted by drifting?
it's a lame spectator sport popularized by wanna-be ricer racers, it will remain at the same level as car stereo contests, low rider hopping contests and anywhere else you find neon lights attached to the underside of a car.
