Over on StangNet, a very talented Photoshop-jock did a rendering of a new Mustang in a GT500 theme....
...to me... a knock-out! I have attached a few of his pics... ..what do you think? Thread reference... |

Ron,
Do you have any interior shots? The car looks great except the nose looks pretty sloped in the photos. All for aero I guess. Retail Price ? Ron :) |
I am sure the aftermarket companies are tooling up like crazy right now for a full line of replacement hoods, spoilers, ground effects, etc., for the '05.
Which is good, because the actual car left me somewhat disappointed after getting really excited by the concept cars Ford showed us... Russ |

This is just a "what-if" rendering, done by 'retouching' (an understatement) a stock photo. |
The only thing I don't like is the "bulged up" hood.
|
Everyrthing the FOMOCO new Cobra concept is not!
Ron, I love the look. Stuff the 390hp SVO Cobra motor under the hood and I'll put one in the garage .
edit: Where's my head, put the 500hp V-10 in the GT500 and the 390hp V-8 in a blue & white GT350 version. I'll buy one of each. |
This would be the one recent Mustang that would do it for me--in other words haven't really been tempted to abandon my pickup for a "new" Stang until now. Of course, since its only a rendition, I don't expect to see one at Ford any time soon. I really like it.

I like it....I really like it.
|
I also really like it.......1000% better looking than the new Cobra but not quite as nice as the new GT (IMHO)...in fact I like it so much more than the new Cobra that I am stunned!:JEKYLHYDE

Already in the works
Hello,
I was just at Singer Racing in Palm Desert California and they are already in the design phase of producing this very car. www.singerracing.com There shop is very impressive. They have an all aluminum 427 cammer in there shop that is almost complete. It is awesome! If you haven't checked them out....you should! |
Ron,
I like it, but ....... Aren't these mock ups based on the prototype car? The production car has a differnt roofline and tail lights. Right? I loved the Stang prototype, but something was lost in the final production version for me. |
I agree with you John. The production version is awesome but it did lose a lot of the "meaness" from the front.
|
I went to the photochopper's site. Ford should hire that guy. If Ford made all the cars that guy chopped, I'd need a bigger garage.

Am I missing something...
...what exactly does "Eleanor" mean?
I've seen the term a lot, in reference to 'stangs (usually '60s fastbacks), but only lately. I've been a fan of older Mustangs for years but I've never heard them called "Eleanors" before. What's up with that? |
Atomsk - "Eleanor" is the name of the Mustangs from the two "Gone In Sixty Seconds" movies. One was a '67 fastback and the other was a '71 Mach I, if I'm not mistaken.

I love it!
Any chance such a car will ever see production? Funny. You like this but not the Eleanor Mustang??? |
Yup, I really really like it too. Hood could be a little less round, but it is very nice. I would buy one today if I could.
|
Wow, 80% love it. That's got to be the first time 80% of us have agreed on anything.:D
