How Often do you Vacuum out the interior of your Cobra?
Of course, it depends on how much you drive it, and how anal (if at all) you are about little bits of dirt, leaves, and what - have - you flying around in the interior of your Cobra.......myself, I vacuum about every other week, about every 200 - 300 miles, as it seems. After all, it takes, what, 5 minutes to vacuum out the interior of a Cobra, including:
1. getting the vacuum out 2. finding the extension cord 3. untangling the extension cord 4. throwing the ball for the dog because he sees me on my knees, and decides he wants to "play" 5. actually vacuuming the car 6. coiling up the extension cord (NO tangles; dont know HOW they get in the cord! I'll blame Dave!) 7. putting the vacuum away AND 8. opening a beer and congratulating yourself on a job well done! |

Pretty damn frequently, actually. That wool carpet is like velcro to every spec of stuff known to man, and sheds like the poor sheep it came from.
Nowhere as involved as your procedure, though. I simply slide on the hose to the the fixed tube hanging down from the ceiling that is hooked up to whole house vac, do the deed and put the hose away on its cradle. The whole house vac is one of the assolute bestest things I own...it sucks. |
when do I vaccumm?
Just after I smack my passenger in the back of the head for not cleaning off his shoes!
I keep one of those battery operated 'dustbusters' in the trunk. When it gets weak I plug it into its charger. SHHHHH....my wife doesn't know I can vaccuum. |

Have gone for the all aluminium look. Hell I have to clean it constantly to keep dirt from scratching it. Looking at getting some black boat carpet as it holds the dirt and can be washed at the car wash back to like new. We have a vacumm system in the house so its a matter of just starting it up, Ther's a hose in the garage (20 foot). Cheers Bernie |

Once a week, but then again it sits outside in front of the shop all day 5 days a week getting dirty.

I have to vacuum mine after every track day. I seem to have developed a tradition of sliding the car off the track at least once on each outing. Every slide slings dirt and debris into the air from the leading side of the slide. The car slides under the cloud and much of that debris lands inside the car. Of course it is primarily a track car so show-car appearance is not my concern, but I don't want the added weight of all that dirt.

I use my ERA's cockpit as an overflow garbage can and dust bin.
There is an ERA feature that allows me to take such a cavalier attitude... The ERA's floor mats (on my ERA) are rather easy to remove being held in with snaps and velcro. This allows me to shake them out and clean them really easily. The carpeted console is another matter, needing a good strong vac. I have a nice 4 HP powerful vac from Groits made by Metropolitan Vac especially for cars. A nice unit. Also, for some tuff debris, I use a 10" piece of duct tape to tack rag the stuff off of the carpet. |

Us poor guys can't afford the fancy equipment all of you rich guys have so we have to do it the hard way. Drive down the highway at 65, then come home and get out the SEARS vacuum and get anything that wasn't sucked out by the wind. I have the Cobra floor mats in mine which catch about 80% of whatever gets in and I just take them out and shake them. Got them from Branda. Really the only place I have to vac is the tranny tunnel hump. :o Ron :confused: :CRY: |
Upon reading the heading for this thread I was sure it was April Fool related. Enjoying the occasional grin I read it.
I'm now convinced that everything that can be discussed about this car, has been discussed. I look forward to more posts of the "What is the fastest you've ever gone in a hospital zone" ilk. |

Why are you concerned with vacuuming? When was the last time you owned a Cobra long enough to get it dirty?:D |

Jamo must have a 427 at least just to run his whole house vacuum. My tranny hump is the part under the car where the dust gets thrown up on top of the plate that the shifter goes into. I don't have carpet under there. As I said, drive down the road at 65 and let the wind suck everything out of the cockpit. It also sucked out some papers that I had in one of the door flaps and really impressed the CHP that was following me. He just laughed when I pulled over and told him what happened and it was only four or five papers so I didn't even get a littering ticket. I HAVE A BUILT IN VACUM...IT KICKS IN AT ABOUT 85 MPH....CLEANS OUT THE WHOLE INTERIOR:D

142's interior is set up like a comp car -- all aluminum, no carpet.
