Matt,
I have not yet received any emails from you...Not sure which email address you replied to. My Club Cobra addresses are personal addresses and are not generally accessed here at my place of business. I will check later when I get home. If various dealers are quoting Racedeck at different prices and stating that they can ship to your area in N.J., then they are free to do so if it is shipped from their own location, where ever that may be; be it in So. Calif. or even in Florida. Our agreement with the manufacturer states that we cannot ship from the manufacturer to a location outside of our "territory". There are many, many "resellers" who purchase Racedeck from "dealers" such as myself and resell it to their own customers. They can sell and ship where ever they please. If you are receiving poor customer service from so-called "dealers", make sure that they are indeed authorized Racedeck dealers, and not just "resellers" who have been set up by the dealers. I have some resellers who are charging over well $4.00 per sq.ft. to their customers...is this a problem just because you might be able to find it cheaper with someone else? I'm sure that you could find four different prices on the same model of Ford truck if you went to four different Ford dealers too! The price that was being quoted both here and on FFR forum is a price that many of our resellers pay for this product before reselling it to their customers. We cannot post these prices over the internet for all the world to view...can you imagine the phone calls that I am going to be receiving from my 40+ resellers now that they have found out that some car guys on a Cobra forum can buy the Racedeck just as cheaply as they are as legitimate resellers?? They have quotas and minimum orders that they need to meet each month and now there is some guy posting wholesale pricing on a car forum. What about all the Club Cobra members who purchased Racedeck at our "regular" member discount of $2.79? Aren't they going to be a little P.O.'d too? Regarding my email to you; I am not trying to fix prices nor am I trying to protect my own monetary interests. I was trying to help maintain the integrity of the dealer network by trying to find out who it was that was not playing by the dealer agreement rules that we signed to. "May the best saleman win"....If I really wanted to sell alot of floors outside of my territory to Club Cobra and FFR Forum members, I could certainly do so and do it in a very big way. I purchase and sell more Racedeck than anyone else in the country other than the manufacturer because of the very highly populated areas that I sell in and I get some wholesale pricing that could put every other dealer in the country out of business within a month. Is this how we should run a dealer network?...or should we maintain dealer quality and sell for the market value price in each of our areas? Should a dealer with a much lower population in his area be handicapped by this and just let the best salesman win instead? What about the manufacturer?...They could outsell every dealer in the country too and put the rest of us out of business if they wanted to, right? Why didn't the NE dealer get annoyed like I did?...well, maybe he doesn't happen to be a member of Club Cobra like I am. Maybe he doesn't frequent these forums like I do. Maybe I'm just trying to keep people like O.J. from causing anxiety between the dealers,...so call me a watchdog of sorts...not a price-fixer. |

The wagons are now circled at RaceDeck. The price posted may be OK, but one now needs to be concerned about shipping costs, handling, tax. etc. I'm done with this - my first bad experience as a Cobra owner. |
CDC,
Give me the name of the sales rep you spoke with...first let's see if it is even our office that you spoke with. I find it very hard to believe that you did not get a price quote if you did call. How can we sell floors if we don't give you a price? Did you mention that you were a CC member? No one killed a club special buy...the only thing that was killed was the fact that the guy who was claiming to be able to sell it at a special price was not truthfull with fellow members. If the large order was shipped to his location in AZ, then shipped out to various members locations, then he can sell all he wants to, but that wasn't the original deal with the manufacturer. Someone needs to start reading the posts more carefully... |

Think about an apology to all of us. |
CDC,
Look, we are all about trying to make the customer happy, and keep our dealers and resellers happy. When someone comes onto CC and makes claims that they shouldn't be making, then someone has to step in. OJ started a problem, and now we have to pick up the pieces. Racedeck has already offered to make things right with those who are interested. We can't offer any more than that. We have other things to consider too. I asked you to reply back to me who it was that you spoke with at our office. It may not have been our office that you spoke with...it may very well have been one of my So. Calif. resellers who has no clue what Club Cobra is, let alone a discount. I have received calls this week regarding a discount....they call in, they ask for me, I give them a discounted price as a member, and they buy a floor. That's all there is to it. If our office is going to be accused of poor service and runaround-pricing, then I would at least ask the person making that accusation to tell me who it was that they spoke to so that we can rectify the situation. At least give me that courtesy.... |

Gents,
I have known Jorgen and Bob for a long time... Jorgen started up race deck a few years ago, (as I understand it, he has been in the business much, much longer) and very unselfishly donated several hundred feet of Race Deck to the car we auctioned off on ebay for the benifit of the NY Downtown Hospital at Ground Zero for 911. At the time, I don't believe Jorgen had a lot of money to be throwing around. We did our best to use his product, but we unable to because of the Labor Union rules at the Javits Center. (I hope I spelled that right). Jorgen wasn't angry at us or dismayed in any way--he was just glad he could help--even though we were all ultimately frustrated in our efforts. I am sure there is some misunderstanding here as I know Bob and Jorgen to be men of thier words. We purchased many, many thousand feet of flooring from Jorgen and we are very happy with the product. We feel it changed the entire look of our shop to a more professional one. We drive forklifts on it, place jacks on it, drop tools on it, and love it. Jorgen even came down personally and installed a good chunk of it himself. (He actually delivered ALL of it personally.) He has always done what he said he would do. As for the pricing... I can give you a little insight. America is a free place. Jorgen sells flooring to his dealers and they are FREE TO SELL IT TO ANYONE THEY CHOOSE. Jorgen can NOT tell them what price to sell it for. Bob can not tell them what price to sell it for. No one can tell them what price to sell it for. They can burn it if they so desire. If they want to sell it for less than they paid for it...well, there is really nothing Jorgen can do about it. It is called free enterprise. Jorgen can only control the advertising of his name and product--hence, the prices are not published on the web below retail because Jorgen won't let them. The dealers then fight it out as to what they will sell the product for. (Kinda like the Ford dealer and the cars on their lot.) Jorgen controls dealers from "stealing", (or whatever you want to call it) other dealer's sales by refusing to ship product anywhere but to that dealer's area. If the dealer then wants to ship the product to Iran, there is little Jorgen can do about it. (Well, maybe the State Department would get involved with a shipment to Iran...but you get my point.) I have simply known these men for too long and don't believe they have any reason to lie to anyone. They are trying to run a business and keep all of the customers happy. In an effort at full disclosure: Kirkham has never sold an inch of Race Deck to anyone and we have never tried to sell it to anyone--even though we really love the stuff. Jorgen has, nevertheless, asked us if we would be interested in selling it to our customers, but we have simply been to busy to even think about it--too many cool new projects in the works... Even so, I doubt we would even make a fly's dent in his sales volume as he produces the stuff, not by the truck load--but by the train load. I am confident this can all be easily resolved with a couple of phone calls and some kind words. David :) :) :) |
Well I don't know Jorgen or his wife Carri (I'll call you by your first name since this is how you choose to address me)nor do I care too at this point, and if they or Evans believed I lied or made this up, or did not tell Alison Volk the orders were going all over the country.......whatever!!!! Your right I lied in order to have 8000 sq ft of Racedeck delivered to my house!!!!!
Jorgen you did attack me and I will not sink to your level, nor try to defend what I did or say because I know what was said (beside my partner was sitting next to me when I spoke to Alison). I understand you are scrambling to save face but as a bussiness owner I would have expected more. Jorgen Please call me (or don't I could care less at this point) and answer just one question....why would I lie about the price and shipping? other than trying to get the best deal I could for our group. OJ |
And Robert Evans this is an "A" and "B" conversation so "C" your way out of it. Before you say "I" was not truthful with Race Deck find out the facts. You were not on the phone nor did I talk to you so mind your own damn business.

OJ:
Your last post was the last straw for me, and I have to say something. I would say that Racedeck I S Robert Evans' business. I own my own business and I see nothing wrong with what Mr Evans has posted here. Pretty ballsy words spoken by someone with 9 posts to their credit, and spoken to 2 people that, in my opinion, are pretty well respected here on CC. I know they've done quite a bit of business here, and their product is top notch (I've seen it) and speaks for itself. I've inquired on their product and pricing in the past and recieved a honest, and timely response. No hidden agenda or "price battles" between salespeople or dealerships. Bottom line is, if you aren't happy with a product or the pricing, then take your business elsewhere. Nobody is twisting your arm to buy Racedeck. If you "thought" you had a special price at one time then you should have purchased it THEN. Why someone would sell their product below cost, though, is beyond me (or anyone else that operates a business). I would be willing to bet that their was some mis-communicaton somewhere, and THAT is what these guys are trying to figure out...... if you would let them. |
Time to get back into the fray I guess. I had absolutely no problem in dealing with the race deck people when I ordered my flooring. They were courteous, inquired as to what I was going to use it for, and sent me a sample of the two tile colors that I was looking at. I used red and graphite as the graphite still looks good and doesn't show our red dirt nearly as bad as white. I did mention Club cobra and was given the discount and everything arrived on the day promised. I am NOT a race deck supplier nor am I affiliated in any way with them except using their product as a buyer. But reading all the posts it sounds to me as if there may have been some things left out by some people when inquiring about making buys. I am thinking about ordering some more from them to do the slab in front of my garage door.
Ron :) |
I called Bob Evans directly. Got a great response and my order is on its way. Very simple.

Rattlesnake, As far as Im concerned this is over. I will not be called a liar!!!! If I never told Racedeck it was going all over the country why would I have these shipping quotes.
400 sq ft and 16 ft of edging shipped to: -FL, 32712 $167.28 -MA, 01030 $167.28 or 800 sq ft $299.00 -AZ, 85045 $99.63 Did I lie and make these prices up as well? Like I said as far as am concerned this is over. Oh yea in regard to you saying "pretty ballsy words spoken by someone with 9 posts to their credit" so I guess your 20 post count makes you What? just as ballsy? Have A Good Day OJ |
I would not stand for being called a "lier" either. Perhaps you should learn to spell a first-grade word--it might lend a little more credibility to your claims.
Bob Evans is a straight-up guy as most longer-term members know. |
Bmalone "BITE ME" did I spell that right
|
Yes good job, indeed. I suggest sticking with words of that sort--they are easy to spell.
Later punk. |
Welcome to CC, OJ...nice start.
All parties have spoken their part. I will close this thread now. Further discussions should begin on a new thread. Ron ClubCobra Moderator |
