Garage Flooring Options

Concrete Garage Floor - need input on options to cover the concrete as it's starting to look bad.

I looked at RaceDeck - on the pricey side and a somewhat convoluted process to even get a quote, not to mention a discount.

A second question is: My Cobra is around 6' by 14' so is it best to end up with a flooring mat or other product that fits or something that puts you on the same surface as you go around polishing, etc., e.g. the ideal size?

Thanks.

If you are interested in Racedeck there is a group buy going on over at the ffr forum. check out the thread:

Race deck group buy

I put down racedeck in my whole garage and love it.

C D C,
Not quite sure why you are having problems getting a quote for Racedeck, but try either emailing me at bob@racedeckofsocal.com or call me toll free at 866 789 5927. Who were you trying to get a quote from?

Bob

I ave been trying to contact Jorgen. In another post he mentioned that there would be a CC member discount. I am ready to buy a Race Deck floor for a 55'X27' space. Just not sure what the discount is. Also, the link to the FFR group buy thread did not work.

CDC,

I have had the race deck in my garage for a year now and really like it. As for polishing the Cobra, I leave it up on the ramps and use the wet paint. I can do the whole car in 30 minutes easy and that lets me get the low places without having to bend way down. Now all I need is someone to do the work for me.

Ron :)

Lew:

That's the problem - what is the discount, if any - I was quoted $3.49 by the factory = $2.75 for the freeflow and informed that retail was $4.29 by the sourthern cal dealer - no cobraclub.com discount from the factory - perhaps a discount from southern cal dealer, but it all depended on the number of feet.

One thing I hate is when retail prices are not posted on products - it ususually doesn't go well for the little guy.

Fixed the link in my original message. here is the group buy info:

Guys,
Call me and I can give you the Club Cobra discount...I can't post the discount price here on the web because it could affect what other dealers are doing with non-discount customers. Ron got his pretty cheap from us....you won't find it cheaper from anyone else.

Call toll free at 866 789 5927

Bob - now this is the problem - go to the link posted above and you will see the following:

I spoke with Race Deck rep today to finalize pricing and figure out how they will handle orders. I was able to get them down from $1.99 to $1.49 for the edging (AKA ramps)

-diamond plate tiles (any color) $2.49 a square ft
-edging/ ramps $1.49 a foot
-corners (if anyone needs them) $1.00 each.

So, why is it that cobraclub.com members cannot get something going like this? Or, just get a price posted for club members, with a separate shipping quote. Or, should we be going over the ffcobra.com to see if their buying club actually works.

Can you match the noted quote?

Robert Evans 04-06-2004 06:01 PM

No one at Racedeck is selling the flooring at that price. I have spoken with the President and we are researching who it is that is advertising the flooring for that price...the manufacturer has NOT authorized anyone to be selling it on the internet for that price. I do not believe that they will be able to make that sale to the FFR members. We'll keep you informed...

O.J. 04-07-2004 10:59 AM

That's right Alison Volk of Race Deck, The West coast Rep for Race Deck, quoted me that price and now the Mollers will not honor our group purchase.........feel better?

I sure don't feel better about any of this. I've always believed that all cards should be on the table - including the price of stuff so that any discount can be readily assessed. The whatever the market will bear pricing scenario - when prices are not initially quoted - makes it difficult to do business with those firms.

My concrete garage floor is looking better and better.

Here's your post over at ffcobra.com:
Is it possible to find out who this RaceDeck Rep is and where they are located? That price sounds too good to be true.

You failed to mention that you are a RaceDeck rep looking to axe the deal.

It appears you found out with no buy now, but also no real world pricing - unless one calls and is subjected to low volume pricing that may or may not be discounted. I give up.

O.J. 04-07-2004 12:27 PM

Cobra de Capell,
I couldn't agree with you more on "cards being on the table"........your right, my painted floor looks better and better by the minute.
OJ

Robert Evans 04-07-2004 12:56 PM

I am not trying to axe any potential deals. Mr. O.J. was not completely truthful with RaceDeck when he inquired about his pricing for these clubs, and now he is bitter. People like him make it very difficult for legitimate dealers like us to offer club discount pricing.

If you look at another post on another thread by Jorgen Moller, president of RaceDeck, you will find legitimate club discount pricing. He, as President, can do that, but we as dealers, cannot. You must call us for legitimate pricing.

RaceDeck 04-07-2004 01:53 PM

Mislead by OJ?

Well OJ, I went through our sales lead reports and found the qoute that was given to you and I went through our other form of phone records and here is what you said'

" I am in AZ and I have a local car club that would like to buy some flooring as a group" We are looking at 8,000 plus feet" Then Allison informed you that we have no dealer in AZ and that since you were selling to your car club that we could offer you a high volume reseller discount and that it would "have to be shipped into AZ" One location.... There was never a mention of FFR national forum or anything like it...

We have a vast group od Authorized dealers and distributors around the country and we will cannot ship floors into their areas...When Kerry Moller called you today she expalianed that and said we would still stand by our original written proposal" YOu told her that if she did not honor "your" deal , you would get busy posting..... Threats like this tend to show the type of individual we are dealing with....

I have been a long time member on CC and Bob Evans even longer,,,,I think that you would be hard pressed to find anyone to tell you that they have had any difficultty dealing with RaceDeck or myself....I also know that Bob Evans has given solid discounts to all members....We have sold millions of feet of RaceDeck to every type of user and we stand behind each and every one of them...Are we perfect? No ...do we try to be? yes....

I am out of the office all week at an event, but please feel free to call me anytime at 800-457-0174

For those of you who got mislead on this "group buy" please feel free to call me and we will do what we can, You can also call Bob Evans as I have given him some leaway to work with all of you....

RaceDeck 04-07-2004 02:01 PM

For the record:
Here is the Suggest Retail for RaceDeck:
0 to 500 feet $3.49
501 + $2.99

For FreeFlow Tile
0- 500 Feet $2.99
501 to + $2.49

Our dealers offer various discounts based on volumes, styles, and if they are having a show deal. On top of that, there is a CC discount that is that is on average $2.79 to $2.99 for diamond tile and $2.39 to $2.79 on FreeFlow...this is for individual floors to individual locations.... If anyone wants to buy 8,000 plus feet and it is going to one location, we can work with you on that...

There is no mystery...:)

cujo 04-07-2004 02:35 PM

I've been quiet so far, but no more.

I originally posted the link to the ffr group buy here and feel badly that by posting it here it in affect killed the deal.

Let me start by saying I own racedeck and love the product. That being said if I knew it was the policy of the company to fix prices to protects it's dealers and to personally attack someone it knows nothing about in a public forum I would not have done business with that company.

I hope that no one from that FFR group buy goes ahead and purchases racedeck on their own.

I also think that Robert Evans purposely misled me. He sent an e-mail to my personal e-mail address asking where I saw the group buy information. He never mentioned he wanted the info to protect his own monetary interest. Never mentioned he was a racedeck dealer. He also asked me where I live. In retrospect probably to find out if my state had a dealer. But on face value I took it that he wanted to come take a look at the racedeck. I sent two e-mails inquiring about his motive and have not received a reply back.

Also you say it is easy to get a price for Racedeck? Baloney. I called 4 dealers when I was buying it and got 4 different prices.
People generally don't like to buy something than find a better deal for it. You have a great product. Price it right and people will come. If dealers are regional why did all the dealers offer to ship it to me in NJ. Wouldn't the NE dealer get annoyed like Robert Evans did? They should all have the same pricing, a region to sell and their success depends on their marketing skills. If not let them all sell all around the country and let the best salesperson win. You can't have a sales scheme that combines both methods. It just confuses the consumer.

Matt

RaceDeck 04-07-2004 03:02 PM

Cujo:
As with any product( holley carbs, furniture, dishes, etc) that has a dealer network, there will always be a difference in price. As for you call "4" dealers? Do you live in "4" locations?

Let me assure you, If OJ had placed an order with multiple shipping addresses, it would have stopped right there...Also I did not attack OJ, only stated what he said to Allison and My wife Kerry..plus the listening to the phone logs and leads sheets....I do not know him personally and he is only a 6 post memeber so I do not know of him here ( or you for that matter)...

As for your comment about Price Fixing? We do not do that but and we gladly give out the suggested retail of our products,....With that said, we let the local dealer discuss what the customer needs, how much flooring and offer their best price...Most every time the customer will get a much better deal than suggested retail....I am not sure who you left an e-mail message with that got no response? We get over 500 +leads a day and over 500 + leads information packets and samples go out each day.... Of all the things we not do right, I do not think Customer Service is one of them....There is a reason why are we are the #1 garage flooring system in the country and have been in business for over 20 years...but I am always willing to make a change for the better if needed...On this one however, I feel that we are willing to honor the deal as it was written and qouted, not what was posted by someone we do not know,

You too may call me anytime....

I
