Be Aware of this Scam...

There has been a lot of talk lately about the bogus eBay auctions, that are facilitated by the theft of eBay accounts. This is accomplished by the scammers receiving responses to trick e-mails, asking for account info. This has also been a problem with stolen PayPal info.
Well, it spreads further than that... Be aware of e-mails similar to the one shown below. Honestly, it is preposterous to think that a bank would make a communication such as this... but apparently, people respond to it. The trick is that, although the URL that you click on is a legit address, the code behind it routes you to a counterfeit server that has you fill out an official looking form, with all your personal banking info. Be alert. |

Have had some of this sh#^ come through at work and home. Different banks used but similiar questions. :eek: All of this in addition to the many emails received by so called millionaires wanting to put their millions in your account. Bernie |

I just got nailed with this but it was a Wells Fargo one. Funny, you always wonder how people could be so stupid to fall for these things, then Bam...they got you! Dam things look real. After logging in and not finding any messages as directed to check, I replied back to sender (wellsfargo.com address) and got the "undeliverable no such address) back. Called Wells Fargo, they told me I was about the 20th person who got scammed that day. Never again (eh, I hope)
