Pissing contest galore!
I thought if I posed a few questions here we can alleviate some other threads going awry, so here goes?
Which is better, aluminum or fiberglass bodied cars? Which is the better all-around engine, a big-block or a small block? If Shelby is offering a fiberglass roller for $39k, why would I want to buy a replica? Is the SAI CSX4000 'glass roller better than the Superformance roller? Which is the better way to obtain a Cobra, by building it myself with my own two bare hands or writing a sizable check and driving it away? Is the SAI CSX4000 a "real" Cobra? Heh, heh, heh... Dangerous Doug  :D  |
The people in the white coats knocking at your door, are from the organ procurement program.;)

DKing,
Answer - what ever floats your boat - its your money or time or both. JMHO |
Answer.....whatever you can afford. Just gathering enough clams to have ownership is usually the biggest hurdle.
|
Oh, I forgot one:
Which manufacturer provides the highest quality product? |
Oooh, what about:
Which manufacturer provides a Cobra roller or kit with the best overall return on investment? Heh, heh, heh... This is way too much fun! |
DaKing,
Check the archives, it's all been done before.... |

Carbon fiber. Which is the better all-around engine, a big-block or a small block? The one with the most horsepower. If Shelby is offering a fiberglass roller for $39k, why would I want to buy a replica? Because Carroll will still autograph the glove box door for you. Is the SAI CSX4000 'glass roller better than the Superformance roller? They are both made in South Africa....it's a draw. Which is the better way to obtain a Cobra, by building it myself with my own two bare hands or writing a sizable check and driving it away? I like the Bill Gates approach myself. Is the SAI CSX4000 a "real" Cobra? If it has Carroll's autograph on the glove box door it MUST be real :D |
Aluminum
Big Block You Shouldnt No Depends if you are a ham & egger or not Yes Kirkham |
DKing,
You're like the guy who walks up to a person and says "hey, did you hear what THAT guy over there said about you?" and then you walk to the other guy and say the same thing... Then you step back with a beer and watch the fight. :) ... I like that :D |

Funny thing is, if we bumped into each other on the other side of the world we would probably act like long lost brothers....

Carbon Fiber...and that 9,000 liter Diesel Inline 12 someone posted about earlier. That'd be kind of cool. How would a 9,000 liter diesel sound through un-baffled sidepipes??
I personally think someone should make a steel bodied Cobra with a Geo 3-cylinder, automatic transmission, dual zone climate control and a big pile of poop in each floor board. And I'm not talking about "I ate a wicker swingset for breakfast poop" I'm talking about 3 dozen Atomic Wings with 8 pints of Heineken poop. Because the thing is... from 20 feet away, it's going to look bad ass. And when someone says "is that fiberglass" you can give a big resounding "no, a$$hole, it's made out of steel. It weighs 4,000 pounds and has 60 horsepower. But you don't have one, do you?" I think I am drunk again....dammit! |
Heh, heh, heh... I wondered how this thread would go over the weekend.
Pat: Long lost brothers? Of course! I would always stop if I spotted a Cobra stalled on the side of the road. Vintage Corvette or Porsche? Nah, not stopping. It's the brotherhood of Cobraphiles. |
"There is NO substitute for cubic dollars."
:3DSMILE: |
Your efforts to poke the hornets nest is much too obvious.
Yours truly, THE Hornet. Nice try. |
Well, I figure if everyone could just get it out of their system here, we wouldn't have to slog through the quagmire on other threads. But, my god, everyone is being so NICE.
Oh, for those of you that are feeling a little sleepy right now and didn't notice, I changed my monicker to "Dangerous Doug" from "DKing". I couldn't figure out how to do this and keep my old post count, but "Eh, oh well!" Down from 118 to 1. I've been haunting Club Cobra for a couple of years now (patiently waiting for the stock market...) and finally found a CC monicker that I'd like to use. "Dangerous Doug" was my childhood nickname (for various reasons, and I have the scars to prove it). It must be the mid-life crisis thing. Now, back to the hornet's nest: Which is better, pin drive wheels & hubs or lugged? (Heh, heh, heh...) |
