Miracles still happen.
Gents:
About 8:30 this morning my brother Steve came into the shop to tell us my nephew had been hit by a car on his way to school and that my mom and dad were on the way to the emergency room. Seems a driver decided he didn't need to stop at a red light and turned right--right over my nephew on his bike who was IN THE CROSSWALK crossing on the GREEN. The driver heard a noise (crunch) and stopped...right on TOP of my nephew! (Stopped his van with the front wheel right on my nephew's pelvis). The driver got out, saw my nephew pinned under his van and so he got back in his van and backed up off of him. A police officer was right on the scene and saw the whole thing and called an ambulance. They rushed him to the hospital, put 8 people on him, looked at the x-rays...and then gave him a few pain pills and sent him home! He was fine. Didn't even break a bone. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!!! When he got home all he asked his mom was if he could get a new bike because his bike was mangled. His mom, (my sister), is a litagator and has been described by other attorney's as "harder than a Hard Tail Harley!" I think he will get a new bike. David:) :) :) I believe in miracles. |
David,
That is quite a story, I believe you know that I am a neuroradiologist. You would not believe the amount of amazing stories that happen to kids at school and at play. I think there must be some powerful force that keeps children safe, i.e. How do any of us make it through childhood and college alive? Tell Steve that my whole family and myself are very happy for his son and thank God that he was not seriously injured. Best wishes, Michael |
David, all things considered that is fantastic, be grateful.

Whew! Just read this, David. Please give him a hug (not too hard, now). ;)

A story with a real happy ending! Sure glad he's OK!

Psalm 91
Truly miraculous! Glad to hear the young man is doing well.
Perhaps he will understand later how extraordinary this moment was. Till then , read him Psalm 91 and teach him to look out for people driving vans! (Which BTW has been proven to lower your I.Q. by at least 60 points!) |
Good things do happen to good people, in fact, they happen often to good people.
Very happy to hear that he's ok (and will be riding a new bike)! |
That is a miracle, amazing story--glad the little guy is okay other than bangs and bruises
|
David,
Your nephew is very lucky....Perhaps a new custom bike made out of polsihed stainless steel would be in order :D :D :D ......... Bill S. |
David,
very glad to hear he is ok! Please tell Steve am relieved to hear this! All the best! Shaps |
David,
Your nephew's story gave my chills, sweat and then relief. I am so glad he wasn't seriously injured. As a parent myself, I can only imagine the agony the family must have gone through while waiting at the ER. Regards, Keith |
That's great that he walked away from that! Perhaps you should build him an AC go cart. Nobody would miss it, and if so, they would surely hear the sidepipes:D
|
David, glad to hear he's shaken but not stirred.
It just goes to show that kids are made from rubber and springs, just like Tiggers. Please pass our best wishes to him from the UK Cobra Club gang. |
David,
So glad your nephew is OK. As relatively safe is our world is, when your child goes out the door, you just never know... I still tell my daughters I love 'em every time they or I leave (and they're grown now). Perhaps your nephew could donate his old bike to the van driver. Sounds like the guy's gonna need it! Lowell |
Thank GOD he's ok! HIS Angels were watching over him for sure. Thanks for sharing.

David:
A happy ending to a harrowing story. Yes, miracles do happen! Our best to your nephew, and all the family!! Jim:JEKYLHYDE :JEKYLHYDE :JEKYLHYDE |

Oh, My God!!
David,
This almost made my heart stop! I am so glad that everything ended well for your nephew! Let's all hope everyone learns a hard lesson from this extremely close call! John R. |
david and family
happy to hear all is well, little guy must be built like your cars:) |
David,
Truly a miracle, and a story with a very happy ending. I guess your nephew's guardian angel got a workout that day having to hold the van up to prevent serious injury to your nephew. "For to His angels He's given a command to guard you in all of your ways' upon their hands they will bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone." I think your nephew needs a titanium mountain bike, as in off road! Thank God, Morgan |
