Default Oil Filter adapter on block

Hello All

No doubt a silly question....but I cannot remember what I originaly did some years ago!! The engine is a 351 W

While my car is being repaired from the accident, I want to upgrade a few thing with the engine while the body is off.

I originaly used one of the inexpensive aluminum oil filter relocation kits. I have now purchased a nice billet piece from Canton Racing, 90 degree swivel etc. I took off the cheap aluminum piece and found that the adaper on the engine...the nipple sticking out has a much larger diameter than what the Canton piece will accept. The Canton has a 13/16 - 16 thread. Does that nipple come out easily?? Is that easy to change to 13/16" and do I want to change its diameter?

I see that Canton make other sizes and could order one that will fit, just wondering why mine is larger....something my engine builder?

any info would be most appreciated

thanks

John

I believe the female thread for the throughbolt on the Ford spec unit is 3/4" (as is the male nipple from the block). You may have a part for Mopar. If it is new may, perhaps it is mix boxed.

#22-595 Ford, Mopar, and applications with 3/4-16 Thread & a 2-5/8" standard seal.
