Posting this photo on behalf of Tom Williams (who doesn't yet have enough posts to add photos).
Tom proudly presents his new California vintage license plate on his recently acquired ERA 289 FIA car!
It took some doing to achieve this plate with the state, yet it completed 8 weeks ahead of schedule, much to his delight!
Brent

Tom, is a "new" and proud owner of this beautiful ERA 289FIA, I had a little to do finding this car for him (Just down the road from me). A normal gentleman, would have given up long ago, trying to get the Cal. DOL, to understand MFG didn't had some under minding dirty meaning Tom, well worth your time & effort, Cheers Tom.

No trunk bumps for the requisite FIA 'suitcase'?

You know Brian, that's the first thing I asked the org. owner. And he said, nope didn't want them, so ERA just put a reg. trunk on. Tom the new owner had no problem without the FIA bumps, it checked off all the other boxes he wanted, so everyone was happy. This Cobra, was the cover car on Griot's Garage catalog a few years ago. I asked how did that happen, he said Richard Griot is his next door neighbor It's always who you know Cheers Tom.

Wow, I must have finally done something right and got in. Thanks Brent for doing what I wasn't able to, and Tom for once again being the master coordinator. Brian, it was a miracle to find an existing car that was so close to what I was visualizing that missing a couple of bumps wasn't a deal killer, and anyway, to accommodate my wife's suitcase would necessitate the bumps being placed somewhere on the outer flanks of the rear fender flairs, lol.

The US Marine Corps Reserve held a Toys for Tots drive and car show today. My car was wearing some holiday garb to celebrate the giving spirit.

This is my old Cobra and the magazine was there at the car show as I was driving up the ramp to get the plaque. This car is now in Arkansas and my cousin has it.
