FFR 1605 I notice lots of guys from Olympia, WA, the rain capitol of the country. I've been looking at homes and am considering moving there. Is it too much going from desert to rain forest? Comments? Mike |

Good to see this thread in view again. This is an update to my earlier, rklein (now an inactive address) comment: Still live in Los ALtos, near Jon Miller. I have an SPF now, # 584 (300 series). Silver (solid, no stripe), 351W small block, 445 HP, set up for road courses with 17" PS engineering knockoffs. Named Mariah, she's tons and tons of fun to drive.
One of the most memorable times in this club was the great amount of care and concern, by way of advice, that I received from the members. The first drive in one's own Cobra is so exciting that words aren't enough to descibe it. That excitement can translate easily to driving out of control, or beyond a safe limit. The words "easy, easy, easy" rang in my ears that first days drive, and since then too. I trust this advice as it is both the voice of experience and well-meant. All the best, Randy Klein [This message has been edited by Randy Klein (edited 03-27-2000).] |

Stone Mountain Ga outside Atlanta. For a big city see very few Cobras. No clubs, no cars,no get togethers--and nice driving weather though. |
Currently on a more than 6 yr. love(2steps forward), hate (1step back) relationship with a Contemporary. We reside in Sussex N.J. where the state meets N.Y. and Pa. It's gettin REEEAAALY close now, about 98.375% complete. I've opted for the A.C. cars formula of Guardsman blue with A.C.cars pure white stripes.

I find this post very interesting but being 11 pages long it would have been great if Ruble would have gotten the answer to his question. He wanted to know if there were any Cobras in the PANHANDLE of FLORIDA. It's a good thing we started the Deep South Cobra Club because we now know where many of you are located and are always looking for more good Cobra people. By the way I'm located in Cape Coral Florida that is down south where it is warm even in the winter months.

Hi everyone,
I've been hanging around this forum for almost a year but always just skipped over this thread. It makes very interesting reading. I live in Yardley, PA. That's about 40 miles north of Philly, just across the Delaware river from Trenton, NJ. I drive a Cobra built from scratch by a fellow who lives in south Jersey. It's red (no stripe) and has a 351 Windsor block with 2V Cleveland heads. Jack |
Floyds Knobs In 20 Min. north of Lou. Ky FFR Cobra carb. 302.

I live in Orange, California (Home of the House of Cobra), just about 45 minutes to an hour South of Los Angeles, or 10 minutes East of Disneyland and/or 2 hours North of the U.S.A. - Mexican Border.
I'm planning on purchasing a used/new Cobra a turnkey or a Kirkham Cobra or a, ERA or a, Unique or a, SPF. I'm planning to use a Tremec TKO, a Richmond 5 Speed, or a Ford Top Loader transmission and definately powered by a Ford 427 SO or CO, or 428 or 429 or maybe a 351 Stroker or a 408 Stroker. But I'm sure it will have 15" rim's, no maybe 17". Paint; it will be Silver, no stripes. Oh and stainless steel headers and sidepipes. I'm glad I finally figured out what I want in a "Second Generation" Cobra 427 Replica.:D |
I live in Bakersfield California, where as I am typing this at 9:55 pm it is a balmy 93°**) We are 3 hrs north of San Diego, where I wish I lived:confused: I am about a month or so away from finishing my B&B Cobra,I can't wait!!!

To the Bordens : I have a 5L. Chevy with a Vortech S-trim V2-SQ blower and the Vortech Aftercooler which works great and I highly recommend. Also installed the big Mondo blow-off valve after trying the smaller Bosch valve which did not react fast enough. I don't hear the whine inside the car but from the front it sounds like a jet engine.
If you look hard in the morning you'll find me on the beach taking a walk at the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. |
Dave, when did you pull your Holden motor out and replace it with a Chev? Did you see any power gains as a result?
