The worst I ever saw was a kid who came up to a buddy's car and wanted to look into it. The kid was eating an ice cream cone. He walks up to the car, stands on the sidepipe, and as he is looking into the car, the ice cream falls off the cone and into the seat! The father of the kid thought it was funny. An angry mob of car-guys ran that guy out of there and made sure he knew that that kind of behavior and blatant disregard for people's property was not funny and would not be tolerated!

Always smiles and thumbs up!! Only had bad one bad moment in Payson AZ year or so ago when some lady held her ears as I pulled up next to her. Of course I was holding my ears too!..... And smiling big time as the passengers in her back seat were taking pictures of my car while her was smoking. Ha

I hate all these people that know what is best for you. What to eat, where to smoke, what to buy, how much to tax me etc. Bring the draft back and get some of these mommy boys off to camp so they can grow up.

How did I miss this thread?

Salmon die at the mention of me, spotted owls fall from flight, creatures large and small tremble at my very presence.

Then I put the Cobra away and go back to work.

Only one that I recall. Pulled up to a stop and an elderly woman took one look at me and the car and spit on the ground. Of course it is impossible to tell whether or not she objected to the car.... or me:p

Maybe she was just a chebby girl.

I understand the people's wanting to look at the cars closely. What I don't understand is their blatant disregard when an owner tells them to not touch it or open the door and they tell him to go to He**. Saw that happen once. After the police got the smart mouthed punk into an ambulance they told the owner to get lost in the crowd.
Most of my experiences have been on the more pleasant side. One teen asked if he could take a picture of his girl friend next to the car and I asked if she would like to sit in it. They both thanked me and told me I had really made their day. Very polite and that I like as I see so little of it any more.

Reminds me of the line from the Simon and Garfunkel song: "Mama looked down and spit on the ground every time my name got mentioned. Papa said 'Oy if I catch that boy, I'm gonna put him in the house of detention.'"

...or something like that...

Ten years of ownership - nothing but thumbs up (including cops.) Maybe I'm just lucky.

Very close.
That was Paul Simon (without Art Garfunkel)
The song is "Me and Julio down by the school yard."

If you think car shows are bad for idiots you should attend an airshow. I have lost count the number of times I have removed "little Billy" from various nooks and crannies of aircraft while Mom and Dad look on and do nothing. Not to mention smoking while standing next to several hundred gallons of fuel depsite the constant reminders over the PA system that smoking is not allowed on the ramp.

:)

Kind of like around the lake. We used to take a chest with sandwiches and drive up to the launch ramps and spend hours just watching the people come in with boats from all over. I swear as soon as they saw water their brains quit working. It was more fun that watching a comedy. And the great thing was, they did it to themselves and their vehicles and not someone Else's.

Before I even had my FFR painted (driving in gel coat), I got violiently flipped off by an oncoming driver on a back country road. Waving had, sneer on his face, very strange. Then, got some guy flipping me off as I passed him on the freeway. I think I was going around the speed limit, but I was going to fast to tell... :) Maybe it's because I'm in my mid-20's, cute girl with me, and they were driving beaters!

While on run's with 20+ cobra's I have been cut off by a large SUV as well as pickups just because we were snakeing our way thru traffic on a multi lane highway and I guess they didn't like it... lately with the gas prices going up, now while refueling I get the evil eye from folks with economy cars...
