I bought a cheap set from Harbor Freight (10 or 15 bucks each), chrome housing, about 4" diameter, off-road type lights. If a rock hits them & they break, no big loss. They do add quite a bit of light on the back country roads. No pics., car is going to the painter

Another consideration if size is important; the 12v landing lights from a Piper Tomahawk are about 3 7/8" round, and mount in a rubber housing mounted via a single 3/8" stud. Bulbs are readily available (#4509) and produce 100w...
normal USA hi-beam is 65. They light up a long way with a straight, pencil beam and only draw 3-4 amps. |
do the lights impeade airflow ??? i'm still interested in doing these lights
