Default Insurance

Is there anyone out there that insures an unfinished Cobra? Here is my problem. My Classic Roadster was built in the early 90's and completly torn down in the late 90's to turn it into a complete race car. The owner lost interest and let it set until I bought it and I am in the process of putting it back together. My car insurance company (State Farm) will not insure it as it is not a complete vehicle. They said "We do not insure car parts, We insure cars". My home owners insurance will not cover it because it is a licenced and registered vehicle (non-op'd). Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Terry

Change your coverage to State Farm. I've been with my agent for 25 years and never had him say no to anything. He's covering my CCX for $310 a year as a collectable.

Danr55,
Thanks for the reply, but as per my post I have State Farm. My agent says they would insure it, but it has to be a complete vehicle, not parts. To insure it they want to take pictures of it (a complete vehicle). They will not allow me to take the picture and give it to them. I do have pictures of when it was together. I have been with State Farm for 20 years but they are very strict on the rules. My issue (as is with everyone building one of these cars) is I have a lot of money tied up in this project and if my house is destroyed for what ever reason, and my car is in the garage it is not covered. I do not know if a lot of people know this or not, your car is not covered (even if it is in your garage). It must be covered by auto insurance not home owners.
