My next question would be what kit car mfg has the best bang for the buck
ie: I am low budget. don't need a show car. |
Well I've even heard bad things about ffr and there suposed to have the best kit out there so I guess it is a get what you pay for world. What would be cool is if someone went on a spy mission with a camera and came back with a solid documented proof of shottyness hell most scratch builders start with nothing and do an out standing job. If this is a source for workable bodies we should know. Anybody want to do some covert opperations. Patrick

Just to toss this out I am looking for a cobra, can be a unfinished kit or more
but my cash outlay is below 20k I have restored cars etc. not a problem doing the work have been a mechinic, weldor, machinest, buyer, designer, computer tech , vp of mfg. Decided not to work for a little bit but am now fliping houses for a while. If anyone wants to sell contact me at gene94@verizon.net Thanks Gene |
If you are very frugal, can spot deals when they come up, and do all of the work yourself, You should be able to build a Factory Five for that money. You would have to go completely donor by finding a good Fox body Mustang and watch for FF5 to have a sale but it can be done.
Check on www.ffcobra.com and also check the classified ads on their site and you just might find what you are looking for. |
geoz3 is not being honest""""""
Hello Everyone, Kit Cars to go here. First thing I'd like to say is ,"I'm glad to be here and represent myself (or defend) on behalf of my dream> KIT CARS.
I'll try my best to explain why I'm in the buisness and adress any concerns I read above...... First I'm here because alot of Americans dream of owning one of the Cobras and that's all they can do, DREAM",. I offer a Complete rolling Chassis constructed of 2 by 4 rectangular steele 11 gaige cold rolled, cross braces are 2 by 2 same as above, floorpan supports are 2 by 2 same, body support roll is 1 by 1, and the cowl is 2 by 2 same. There is more than sufficient room for suspension upgrades", and purchasing a pre-established kit due to the companys name is not a better idea. Our bodys are 14 mil thick Gel coat and RMP (Radius Marine Putty) reinforces every angle of the Kit, NO THICK BODY HERE average 3/16 inch thickness and up to 1/4 to 1/2 inch thickness on areas surrounding headlights, tail lights, hood pin mounting points. Our hinges are welded and scabbed 100 % into the body frame (Roll) made of one by one, we are however considering handlaying them into the body? Any sudjestions would be appreciated. We've been in busiiness for 1 year! Started not even being able to pay the bills", now people that have taken the time to visit our shop, say we're good. As the matter of fact they say we're one of the best bodies they've ever seen! When our body has set in the mold for 48 hrs it's removed and we trim it completely", then we remove any clay and Gel Coat lines from the body, all pin holes if any are filled and all air pockets if any are busted and repaired by us (NOT A SUPRISE TO THE CUSTOMER). Then we add High Gloss additive and oxidizer as welll as acitone to the mixture and complletely re-shoot the body giiving the customer a Beautiful foundation to start from. We thought with our contacts we could supply the Donor mustang prts for the customer again and assemble them. When the customer purchases the $8,500.00 roller, they just saved $1,000's and many man hours of working that require equipment most people don't have laying around in their garage". The rims and tires arre also included. geoz3, AKA George, I delivered the Kit from SC all the way to South Miami and spent atleast 2 hours with him inspecting the Kit (He loved it) hands down, and then one small defect wich we offered to make good on until he started using Profanity and threatening us with a Law Suit, at that point I acknowledged the issue and realized it was a mistake that my shop could fix in about 4 hrs and still continued to try and work with Mr. Covelli and every time I tried to be nice, he would start disrespecting again, not a man worth dealing with reasonably, and I washed my hands with him.. I will not leave a customer hanging with no where to obtain parts, everything needed minus (ebrake/pedals/motor/transmission) is in my catalog. I must add I don't make a dime off of anything in the catalog, 90% of the Cobra parts are supposed to have a 25% mark up for us to make profit, but I just put it there and let the customers make the savings. On an average, the roller bought from me for $8,500.00 the catalog can complete it NICELY for around $5,500.00 "NO BS", my business location is 30 YARDS off of HIGHWAY 146 that connects HIGHWAY 146 to HWY 417, RUNS INTO HWY 385, HWY 85, HWY 221, HWY 1-26, NOT LOCATED IN A SUBDEVISION, 5,750 SQF Facillity about to expand.... I promise the Cobra world and Kit Car lovers that we will provide their Dream Cars and at a price they can afford, we will substitute the Quality or Craftsmanship of my product for the reduction of price, if anything we do MORE"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""'''.... PERIOD.... Brian. Representing, Kitcarstogo.com Excuse some of the mis-spellings my Lap Top buttons stick so bad I probably typed three pages this size justt to get this one right, PEACE :) |
Sorry geoz3, we did everythiing possible to make you happy. You're a smart a___ and unable to be dealt with. You were one of our first two cars ever, we even offered you the NEW Roller with the proper strut deminsions. Your body was garbage? You told GENE that when his friend personaly came to our shop and i witnessed the operation and LOVED IT", he saw none of the accusations you're claiming", I'll bet we put as much or more pride in our work as any company. We look to feed the family, not the country, we're not trying get rich quick!!!!!!
BAD BAD BAD BAD NEWS or BAD BAD BAD BAD Attitude form you got you no where and will never get you anywhere. We do 3 times more now to the Kits than when you purchased yours, and there $1,000 cheaper", I don't understand you now and didn't understand you then. I know customers come first, but you're sick, Kit Cars to Go, an American Kit car company.... Mr. George Covelli, |
Brian,
You are still the same old con man. You delivered the car and left in 10 minutes, not 2 hours, remeber you had to get the kids to the beach before it got dark? One small defect, HA HA. Look at the car on Ebay, you claim it sets 3" higher, try 1 foot, and placing the engine in the frame won't fix that. The body you delivered to me has more patches on it then a quilt. The frame, you don't want to go there, One door weighs in at 45 LBS, the other, 15 lbs, that is in fact Kit Cars to Go QUALITY. I guess I'll take some pictures of your fine work and post them here. I just hope no one else makes the mistake Dave and I did. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE............. |
This is the last post I will make regarding KITS CARS TO GO, If you buy one of the kits you have wasted $8500.
Dave Dean bought the othjer kit that Brian talks about. Dave Dean I have not had a response to my letter sent over a week ago. I have been gone since 3/21 - and indicated that to them - I got a picture of a new frame - that Brian says is 2" lower- but I don't believe it, I guess I will have to call JP as I have a phone number. I have a friend that also gave me the phone number fro NHTAS - in DC - and he says I can turn these guys in on a safety violation notice and they will come out and inspect the manufacturing place and just cause a pile of problems for them, and may even shut it down since this product is going between states. Just thought I would check on your latest. Her is Brian’s partner asking a question during the bidding process on EBay, I did not know who he was until after my problems started and had contact with J.P., Brian’s partner (AKA Bigmoneyleasure) I asked this question of J.P., never got the answer. “In reviewing the ebay bidding process for the car I bought I noticed that you asked a question, posing as a customer, seems a bit odd to me. “ Jan-29-07 Q: Brian, thanks for emailing me about your new kit car. Although, I am not interested in it right now, it proves what you told me back in 4/06 when I purchased my 87 Sterling from you; that you were going to move forward and make more kit cars. This one sure looks great. I was impressed with the strong chassis that you are now using. In your message, you said that you have a chassis builder with you that used to make frames for race cars. I can believe that. My Sterling runs great and I am sure all your other kits will perform just as great. Good Luck on this one. A: Hello Bigmoneyleasure, I haven't seen you since the Carlisle show in VA. I'm glad to hear your Sterling is still in great shape and hopefully should remain for years. Wee are still here for you shouuld you ever need us again. I don't know if the Kit build is responsable for the Performance you and the Sterling displayed or just Great driving skills on your part. Maybe a combination of both, Ha Ha. Please feel free to contact me anytime. Charles is our Chassis fabricator now, and yes the Chassis have come a long way to achieve what could be the best perfomaning design we've produced todate for thte Roadsters, all the others as well. Thank you so much. Sincerely, BBGINC04, Brian. P.S. The whole Kit Car family says "hello" :-) |
