It's from a Wallace Wyss book published in '77 with forward by CS called "Shelby's Wildlife-The Cobras and Mustangs". It isn't too specific on some things but has some good info. Since it was still fairly soon after production had ceased, I think some of the details are as accurate as some that have been created in the following decades.

Being one of the early books on Shelby history, there is some information in Wally's book that turned out to be incorrect. For example, his book states that the first cobra's serial number was CSX0001 instead of CSX2000.

What!!!!

Wally make a mistake! Say it ain't so, Joe.

I think we should start a fund to purchase a registry for him.......would eliminate 90% of the questions he posts here.

Ned, how about it?

Do you have any information on the 260 Cobra main caps. I have a set that is the same size as the later HIPO caps. On this set the arrows are in the middle of the cap like the 62 caps and the rear cap has no part number or markings.
Thanks
David

I know, I’m contributing to an old thread, but I thought these pictures may help.

From “Carroll Shelby’s Racing Cobra” ca. 1985.
