Csx3356
Does anyone know anything about CSX3356?? It's parked about 100 feet from me right now.. :)
|
Blue/white street car...make-over to look like an S/C...even so far as to change the dash to a Comp layout....battery in the trunk, however.
|
Well someone just paid a whole lot of money for it.. I almost fell over when he told me how much it went for..
|
...so? ...make us fall over.
|
They sold it for 800k... The have a kirkham over there too ready to go for 105k.. Nice looking car...
|
So, where are you?
|
At this moment I am in Emeryville California.
|
Fantasy Junction ????
TR |
Must be Fantasy Junction.
|
Yes.. right across the street from Pixar.. They have/had 3 cobras in there.. A real one, an SPF and a Kirkham.
|
Personally...the're all real...only a handfull are original...after all Carroll only purchased the rights for 100 California VIN tags and didn't build all 100 in the sixties. The rest are continuations, technically. Just my .02
Also...I almost bought one of his originals, new, in 1967...but...I was just a dumb kid and didn't. I've regretted it ever since. But, if I had bought it I probably would have killed myself in it before now. So maybe it was a good thing after all. Tom |

Hi Guys,
I was in Oakland for business Friday and stopped into Fantasy Junction, I was taking a picture of the Cobra when a youger guy (Mid 30's -- younger to me) drove up behind me in his Porche 997 Turbo. He is the new owner of CSX3356. It is painted the same scheme as my CSX4264 (Continuation Car) except my car is black and this one is Blue ----- i.e. Stripes with Rondels. Looks like it is pristine condition and he took it for a ride. I talked to him and he is involved in some way with hedge funds and lives in San Francisco. We talked briefly, the car started out as a standard street roadster and was converted to SC format in the late eighties. I invited him to BACC breakfasts in Dublin and the only advice I gave him was "Don't make it a garage Queen" Tony R. |

Thanks Roscoe......
That's the one, great pics....BTW even though my Shelby looks like his, I paid less than 10% of what he paid for CSX3356 vs CSX4264.    What a difference a single digit makes. TR |
Tony:
He still retains better bragging rights. That is what it is all about. CM |
You got that right Cal,
Just when you think you are a big dog you look up and there is leg arched up over your head......... BTW I was in my neighbors garage last night and along with his orginal CSX3xxx there were three cars that were the fastest three cars in the world in 1973.....all three original, all three perfect and all three ready to be driven at 160MPH +. Total of sixteen beautiful, Morgans, Ferraris, Maserati, Porche, GT500KR, GT350, Cobra, Aston Martin..........etc. etc. TR |
I was just in my garage this morning and 2 of the 3 fastest cars I've ever driven were sitting there, in not so perfect condition, but ready to be driven nonetheless.
(My wife's Tahoe being the outlier) |
I have two cars that won't start and one that burns oil like an industrial furnace. Let's see if you guys can top that.
Tony: Am I wrong in thinking that you once or still own an ERA GT-40? CM |
Hi Cal,
The stable mate to the Shelby is an SPF GT-40 painted in Gulf colors.......never did have an ERA. The GT-40 is a Flintstones car right now as I just this week got the ring gear and fifth gear to rebuild the ZF transaxel the way I want it. The ZF is new but I wanted a 3:77 ring gear instead of the 4:22 or 4:56 they normally come with, I also changes out the fifth gear to have the engine running at 2300 - 2400 RPM at highway cruising speeds. The engine is a dart aluminum block pushed to 427 cu.in. with Webers on the top of it...... Later this year I will be able to save shoe/foot bottoms for my passengers and I and stop the Fred and Barney act. Tony R. |
