Trevor Legate Trev, Hi mate. Now I can do better than that. Send me small bills and I will send you millions of dollars that I have here. Just send your account details and my Nigerian partner and I will assist... Amazing how many fall for these Nigerian money schemes....%/ Nice looking car though. |
G'day Bernie Don't tell me you have a Nigerian partner as well - small world! Still, when we release those funds from that bank in Lagos, it's luxury for yours truly from here to the end of the rainbow...happy days. Just got back from the Goodwood Festival of Speed where I was chatting with one of your more notable countrymen - Dan Bowden. He was running his ex-Brock Torana up the hill and was staring wide-eyed at the cars that surrounded him. Kiddie in a sweetshop!! I guess you know him - its a small country you have there (Bowdens Own) - as he owns a car or two, plus a Cobra (of course) and a GT40. So he's a jolly good chap and therefore an honorary Englishman. Anyhow, my feet hurt and I need a cuppa... |

DEar Mr. Legate, Best wishes to you for success's. Allow me to introduce myself, I am Mr. Wilson Mugabe, solicitor for the Nigerian Federal Publishing House. Our late director, Mr. S. Inkspot had personally ammased a fortune of over 12 million DK Publishing automobile books which are held in reserve at the printing house in Hong Kong. As you know, these are reknowned for being the most accurate books about automobiles extant. You have been recommended to me as a trustworthy person who could paste correction stickers over the photo captions on these books and sell them at a considerable profit. Please send me your bank information and any spare change in your pocket immediatly. We will split all profits 70/50 and the government will never know! This must be kept most secret, it seems people don't like it when you steal from them! I look forwaqrd to your soonest reply. You may eamial me at WMUGABE@shyster.gov.ni Withs Gods help, we will prevail! Best, Wilson Mugabe |

Dear Mr. Mugabe Praise the Lord! A fellow sufferer! Indeed I am most used to pasting correction stickers over photographs since here where I am kept, my 'correction' work is to place such stickers into the pages of a certain Playing-Boy magazine that contain images of fair maidens from the shores of the Generalyunited States, north of Mexico. That nice Mr.Heffer seems to know what he is liking. I feel your offer will provide me with a better financial reward. Hurrah! Most timely. And indeed, I am most used used to splitting all my profits with the UK government on such a 70/50 basis (at least). Our correspondence must remain top secret, otherwise our cover is blown - so this seems the ideal place to communicate. I remain yours, Mr.P.I.Staker (nothing like hi-jacking a thread....!!) |
Mmm guess it was me who hi jacked it.. Now I know where all those fuc*ken emails come from that jam up my emails..%/ Mark IV is the culprit.... |
Trevor Legate Trev, I have not been up to Queensland to see the Bowden collection...%/ However, he kindly opened the display of his cars to the Queenland Cobra club a few months back and they had some great photos of his Ford and GM Holden race car collection on the Australian site. I had the opportunity to have a good look over the green Cobra when it was at the Melbourne F1 Grand Prix a year or two back..%/ At some point in time, I will make the pilgramage to the Festival of Speed...**) Take care. Bernie |

Not only does he own more cars than Henry Ford, but he's a good bloke as well...! Life can be so unfair. The advantage of being at this years meeting was the opportunity to see 5 Bugatti Royales in one place for the first, and probably last, time ever. |
That was his car after losing the initial lawsuit with SPF. |
