yeah, Mike...that one is an ERA.

I did fondle a real'er CSX3032 in Colorado, and more recently, in Utah.

In the second eBay item number posted (160139585786), it says the vehicle's VIN # is 457044 and it's "California VIN# is a special construction 1965 Cobra 427 Side oiler that honors the racing exploits of the car whose VIN# plate it proudly displays CSX3032."
This is an ERA that probably has a reproduction chassis tag with "CSX3032" stamped on it. The dealer doesn't know that isn't it's true chassis number. The current seller has only been registered since April. My gut feeling is he isn't trying to scam anyone. He just doesn't know that the tag he's reading isn't the correct VIN number.
Has anyone emailed him to let him know he should change it?

Tribute Car! IT'S A KIT KAR...

It is an ERA. Clearly. The dead give away is also the square edges on the engine bay opening with rivet heads. Clearly glass. Aluminum would be wrapped around tubing with rounded edges with no visable rivet heads.

Whoa! Good tipoff Evan. I'll be looking for that little detail next time I'm trying to figure out alloy vs glass! :D

Allied glass bodies were made to be direct replacements for Aluminum bodies, they fit around the original bird cage tube chassis and are glassed or riveted on..

Map: I didn't know that about Allied glass bodies. Are they riveted on the outside or the backside of the tube?

Anyway, the car the subject of this post is not an Allied bodied car. It has squared off edges around the openning of the engine bay with viable rivets as 99.9% of the glass replicas have. This is an easy way to spot a glass bodied replica in 99.9% of the cases.
