Looks like an ERA to me. That's pretty bold to use an original CSX VIN.

Just did a quick search on completed items and came up with this... Same car. Appears to be owned by a car dealership. 160139585786

I'll admit, it was a little tough. It's a pretty good car. The firewall gave it away with the standard ERA "double row" fuse setup.

Isn't it highly illegal to use any vin # you want to on a car? And you wonder why Shelby gets pissed.

Check out the discription in the second link I found in post 5. He provides some history on the car. That was really the first ad. Someone out there may know more about this car. HT

Sal is correct! Kudos...........

It is an early ERA:
-Wrong Amp meter
-Wrong fuel gauge
-Temp is in F not C, trait of older Smiths circa 80"s
-Roll bar behind seat is 289 style, trait of an older ERA
-15" replica steering wheel with no dish
-Rear fender off the tires
-Old ERA style-ERAtyle cooler line configuration
-Glass doors
-Of course fuse box....Thanks sal..

Still its a nice car, oddly advertised!
Jeff

Clock is ticking on this bomb to explode. I am sure CS has his people looking very carefully at the VIN number!
The guy who SHOULD be pissed is the OWNER of that VIN! If it were me I'd be all over this like white on rice. Just one more reason to NEVER give out the vin of your car unless somebody is handing you a wad of sweaty money.

What does Old Man Shelby have to do with this car unless he owns the original car. I'm sure he wants to own everything connected with these cars, Just wait till the day comes when he wants all the records back from SAAC!

This appears to be the 3032 that Brian Angliss built in the 80s...

Map,

You think this is a lightweight MKIV? If it is the price tag $79k is a bargain. Considering an Angliss car is aluminum, I still think it's an 80's ERA. Angliss cars did not have floor mounted pedals especially those in ERA fashion, ie: bent clutch arm at ~45 degrees.
Beware of sellers lack of knowledge: (quote from their website)
This 1965 FORD COBRA 427 is red with black leather interior. It is equipped with a V6 engine and a manual 4 speed transmission. The options and features include:
These guys are really out to lunch on this one!

NO WAY thats a Brain Angliss built car, it's an ERA, 100% gaurenteed, as has all ready been noted in this thread! It's GLASS, not alloy, because #1 ERA's are glass and #2 the price is to low to even consider it as an 'older alloy' car (much less with any pedigree), and clearly it IS an 'older ERA car'.

Any Shelby interest would be tied to the TOTALLY BOGUS use of the CSX number, it's fraud, straight up and down.

As has been pointed out: Firewall details leave little doubt concerning the maufacturer. Fuse's, solenoid location, driver footbox, carb linkage, the SINGLE plastic canister for the brake and clutch fluid reservoir. Door pockets, roll bar BEHIND the rear bulkhead and numerous other details point to only one conclusion, early ERA, stick a fork in it!

Nice webers! Oh, and the placement of the voltage regulator, battery and wiring harness on drivers side engine bay, yup, it's an ERA!

The registry says > A brand new "CSX-3032" was constructed with a Brian Angliss chassis/body composite in the early 80s painted Red.
It was featured on a poster and in at least one magazine article before it was discovered, in 1988, that the authentic CSX-3032 was alive and well in Colorado.
Thorough inspections were carried out on both cars, after which McClure surrendered his Title in 1990 and the car- which was almost sent to a crusher in California - was instead sold to Japan as a Replica..
I would say this is the Kit Kar..

That may be true, but this is not that car. This is a glass ERA.

The registry also notes that the Anglis car is the THIRD 3032, as in the early 70s, a 33XX street car was changed hands several times bearing the 3032 VIN.
