Default hood prop rod help

I would like to know where I can find a polished stainless or chrome plated hood prop rod ? I have called several of the "cobra parts companies" but nobody seems to have much. I would like one that "locks in" in the open and closed positions. I have a B&B/California Concepts car which I bought used. If anyone out there can help I would sure appreciate it.

Make one out of stainless. How do you want it to lock in?
I use a large and one small rubber O ring to hold the prop rod in place. They keep the wind from blowing the hood down. I saw one at the London Cobra show last June. It's a two dollar fix. I don't have a pic but will try to remember to take one tomorrow.

If you can get a picture, that would be great. I would like it to lock in rather than depend on gravity. How did you hinge it in the engine compartment? Did you use a solid rod or tubing?

Nice and simple, even I can do that. Thanks for the pictures, they sure make the fix clear. I've got a prop rod that came with my car from the previous owner but it looks like a kid made it. I think i'll start from scratch and use your connector.
Thanks again,

Barry

Backdraft uses a stainless steel rod on their cars with a small plate on the hood which locks it in place when the hood is open. You might contact Reg Dodd at Backdraft. It won't be a two dollar fix, but it will look nice and they work.
