Ok, I have it directly from a manufacturer that a washable filter to fit the 14.625" x 7.875" are being readied for production as we speak.
The standard height is 2", and a optional 3" height is no problem.
They also said that adjusting the length to fit the other popular Cobra air filters sizes is not a problem...
So how does 3" fit for most people?
What other sizes (heights) would be of interest?
I'll pass on the information...

Interesting. I would have to eliminate my 1" carb spacer to make it fit though. Give up something to get another...might be a wash. Maybe somebody with oodles of time and access to a dyno can perform a massive experiment for Cobra owners on all this.

I would think the carb spacer would win easily if you had to make the choice...

Really? I would think that making sure that you could flow enough air into the carb would be the top priority.

I'm assuming you have a 2" filter on there now. Surely increasing from a 2" to 3" filter would help the engine breath better "IF" the engine needed more air to begin with. But I do know for a fact that the carb spacers can do wonders for dyno numbers where air cleaner sizes appeared to do much less. And I'm also making reference here to a well built street engine, not a full race prepared track engine. I'm sure someone out there can add to this with some real numbers...
