Actually, I have a manual garage door. I didn't want my garage security dependent on an electronic device. The only time that I think about a door opener is when I'm out in the Cobra late and don't want to jump out to unlock/open and get back in the Cobra to put it away. Woe is me, such is life with a Cobra and my own garage.

Just for grins the liftmaster 3800 has an electric door bolt that engages above one of the wheels on the door to prevent anyone from opening the door. It mounts on the garage door track. It is as effective as the manual lock. The downside is if you loose electricity and do not have a side door you will never get in your garage unless you opted for the backup battery pack.

I have been using my door in the manual mode also, but I use it every day since I park one under the cobra. Nothing like getting in a dry warm car, especially for as much as it rains in Houston.
