Albums in Gallery

hi. I noticed a bit ago the 'album' tab in my gallery.
yea!! thank you very much for adding that. :)

question. Can I import pics OUT OF my gallery and into the album, or can i just upload from my computer??
I would hate to re-upload all my zillions of pics to get them into the appropriate album, can they be transferred, so to speak?

thanks again for adding the album section.

Kristen

Yup...we've got the "Album" feature back and working.

Users can create Albums, or "sub-categories" within their own Member Gallery.
Good for Events, special topics, etc.

Unfortunately, there is no way for a User to move images from one area to another. You can create a new Album and upload to that album only.

If you want to re-organize, yes..you would delete a pic in your Member Gallery and then re-upload it to a specific Album.

Ron

Thanks for Album selection.

If we did the above, I assume that if we had previously used that photo in a thread, that the photo would be replaced by a Red X.

If that is true, is there a way to do a search for the thread # where you posted that particular photo you want to delete from your member gallery section and revise the thread to the new Album location?

That is correct, because it would then become a dead link.
...which, by the way, is what might happen if you could move a pic...the URL could change.

Unfortunately, the Search function does not look for text within Tags (IMG)...so searching by name of image won't work.

Better to just use the Album feature for future uploads.

Thanks for the clarification.

Is there a limit on the number of albums you can create? If there is a limit, it would be nice to know that number in advance for the members that post a lot of pics.

The software provides unlimited number of sub-categories (what we have been calling "albums").
I don't believe Brent has dialed in a maximum override.

I would pick a reasonable number, say 10...and try it.

I noticed recently the sequence (order of how they were stored) of the pictures in my own gallery had changed. Has anyone else had this happen?
