Default BJ has started

Went to the Gala party tonight. Got to stand in line for 15 minutes to get a refreshment and another 15 minutes to get some chips and dip. On the bright side though it has some huge improvements over the previous years. Got to see a McLaren mercedes up close and kinda personal. (over 500K) I need to update the date on my camera though.

THE ENGINE SOLD FOR 50K!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd say you wasted your time if those are the only pics you got.

Default I would say

that someone that only has less than 100 posts and probably hasn't ever been to BJ or know DU should be a little more respectful.

But THAT is just my humble opinion.

I was wasting time trying to recoup the Valet parking fee and tips plus standing in line for tooooo long to get a f**king drink and a couple lame chips to bother taking pictures. (I've flown into Alpena when an Air Base still existed there. Great town...)
I'll get to BJ Friday and get some decient pictures though.....

Here's what happens when somone with too much money and not enough sense gets a hold of a McLaren.

Double Ugly - Have fun at the show. If need to stand in line too long for a drink...just buy two.

John,

I would be happy to stand in line and buy you a drink or two. Come over to Russo Steele for drinks and dinner, too.

Well I watched the first show last night. And of course they save the really desirable cars for later, but I did see some interesting things. Like the 4,000 pound three wheeler that the motor weighed 3,000 pounds. That thing must be something to drive. And the so called Rat Rod. Even a couple of nice cars with some rust, but the prices weren't to bad on most of what I thought they would go far. I did notice they kept repeating at times that some of these vehicles can't be registered in certain states. Gee, I wonder if they were referring to California?

Thumbs up

DU, I watched the auction on the tube last night, I saw that Mclaren Benz, just for a second. Sweeeet! How was the gala, other than the long lines? I went a couple of years ago, and it was pretty spectacular! Lots of "waitresses."

John......

Two great pics. Love that McLaren Mercedes, and my favorite engine of all time, the 427 Rat (Best bang big horsepower for your bucks). Not to mention it's all aluminum!

Doug...What's the story on the Mercedes? It looks like it was dropped! Looks like a Paris Hilton trade-in.

Maybe Paris and Brittany were trying to park in the same spot!

Even now, in trailer parks all across America, Bubbas are putting new batteries into their beloved Trans-Ams yelling "Hey, Brandine, we gonna have money for the Sizzler this week!!!!"

Shelby continuation 7000 car sold for 64K. It had webbers and appeared to be first class. Great buy for someone, I think.

Bill,

I saw that. I used to be able to make a reasonable guess at what the cars would go for but any more it is just crazy. Some that I think should bring high prices are real bargains, at least IMHO, others that I would consider lower end if not undesirable bring huge amounts. But as we get farther into the week the top line cars will start showing up.

Bill - Late checking in on this post. My brother snapped that picture of the munched McLaren on his phone in Costa Mesa. It's hard to see, but I think he said it had been rolled. Tough call to the insurance agent.
