Ugliest Sportscar?

After having watched the 24 hours of Daytona, does anyone else believe that the Daytona Prototype are not the best looking?

What is the ugliest sports car? (No Pacers, or Gremlins)

John Owen 01-27-2008 05:44 PM

One that is not fun to drive (def), but from the exterior, most after '71

First edit - I agree with your implied critique of the modern enclosed cars - I got off the bus after the GT40, Porsche 917 and Ferrari 512, but the ugliest car I ever wanted to love was the Chaparral 2J, saw it run at Road Atlanta

I'd have to say it's a tie between the Lotus Europa and the Opel GT. Both fugly IMHO

philminotti 01-27-2008 05:49 PM

I could never understand what people saw in the late 70's Aston Martin Vantage. Fugly.

Although I'd love to have one, you cant get much uglier than an early Griffith / TVR

4pipes 01-27-2008 07:43 PM

I think the Daytona Prototypes are the ugliest road racers I've ever seen. The 250GTO was the prettiest.

meat 01-27-2008 07:47 PM

Ah! I knew I'd remember this car!

Introducing... the Bufori!

Your pal,
Meat.

Bingo! Looks like a bullfrog.

Tom...assolutely agree re the Rolex Series prototypes...not to mention they look like clones. I would only watch Daytona to watch Fellows in the Vette.

That's why ALMS is the better series.

GlynMeek 01-27-2008 08:23 PM

I HAD a Frog-eye Sprite in 1971...loved it!!! :)
