The NEW one 800 HP 2200 lbs

I think the front shot is taken too low but overall I like it.

That is crazy!!! **)
Love those control arms.

Two emergency brake handles?
And that special billet automatic aluminum gas cap that weighs only 8 pounds!:JEKYLHYDE

ZOERA-SC7XX 03-13-2008 03:04 PM

Looks more like a BMW Z4 with Cobra body panels...

TL Marcel 03-13-2008 03:11 PM

interesting suspension...
Would be nice to see the chasis

not really my 'cup of tea'!
raises the bar on David and Tom Kirkham's skunksworks project, though...

redd 03-13-2008 03:37 PM

put 800 hp in a kirkham close to same weight. 200 mph seems a little to high with the areodynamics.

I don't think the Kirkhams have anything to worry about. This car is kind of ugly and unproven. They claim 200+ mph, but have they actually tested it to do that? And I suspect that the Kirkhams gas cap weighs less than 8 pounds. :D

I saw the prototype Iconic on March 8, 2008 at the Amelia Island Concours d’ Elegance and not even part of the car show but parked in front of the Ritz-Carlton. From their brochure and talking with them-Introducing a new standard in a Hi-Performance Luxury Vehicle the Iconic, proudly inspired, conceived, designed, and manufactured in the United States. You can see by looking at this car that it was inspired by the original 427 Shelby Cobra Roadsters it even has the 427 badges on the front fenders. This car has an 800+Horsepower 420CID (6.9 Liter) Iconic designed all aluminum V8 fuel injected, naturally aspirated engine which runs on premium pump gasoline. It has a total curb weight of only 2,200 pounds, which gives it a power to weight ratio of 2.75 lb/hp or 727.3 hp per ton, with a 200+MPH top speed. It has an advanced all carbon fiber constructed body with a hybrid steel carbon fiber reinforced chassis. Mounted on the rear of the roll bar the led lightings center group are the brake light and those to the right and left are the turn signals. The chassis features an integrated carbon fiber passenger tub. With a torsional rigidity approaching 80% of a typical Formula One race car and a Formula One derived racing C6 Corvette after market suspension. All brackets and hinges are formulated from billet aluminum as are the custom wheels at $3,000 each. With its unparalleled design & engineering tolerances this all hand assembled production vehicle will sell for a price of only $500,000 per vehicle. There will be an extremely limited production of only 100 vehicles.
I don’t think Kirkham’s has any thing to worry about.

Too many shiny parts..............:(

Morris 03-13-2008 06:53 PM

Without a Wing .... that car is not going anywhere near 185 mph....... especially if they wanted to turn the steering wheel.

And we have done it..... besides ....KMP 259 has more than 800 hp right now..... and a much stronger Chassis ...... and we would encourage them to join us at Road America.....

Pretty cool looking - a good estimation of what a modern-day Cobra might look like.
But if you're "highlights" are the gas cap, the shifter and the door hinge, you might want to bring a bit more to the table.

Funny; looks suspiciously like a SBC with lots of shiny goo-ga's on it.

Sorry, but IMHO, it's FUGLY. There's a reason why automakers have large design studios with degreed designers. (I know, I know, David Healy worked alone, but he was definitely an exception. And please don't mention the Pontiac Aztek!))

And, I love marketing-speak:

"With a torsional rigidity approaching 80% of a typical Formula One race car"

Um, 20% is approaching 80% right?

And someone please tell me what a "Formula One derived racing C6 Corvette after market suspension" is! Is it formula one derived, racing C6 Corvette, or aftermarket? Does a racing C6 Corvette have a formula 1 derived suspension, or maybe a formula 1 car has an aftermarket suspension, or maybe a formula 1 car has a racing C6 Corvette suspension. Huh? I'm confused. My head hurts.

This new car or the newer Kirkhams?:mad:

fsstnotch 03-13-2008 09:23 PM

Someone put a solstice, Z3, and a cobra in one garage and they made a baby!!!

Not really to my taste. Headlights are too big, interior has too much bling, rear doesn't have enough 'junk in the trunk.' It just doesn't have the nice sexy curves I like.

BossCER 03-13-2008 11:45 PM

I agree, that rear end is very Solstice like

COBRANIP 03-14-2008 01:10 AM

The 2nd "hand brake" is non functional & is actually a grab bar. Front suspension is very nice.

cobra crazee 03-14-2008 01:19 AM

I want to know what ever happened to the Cobra concept and the new Gtr with the V-10. Ford better bring out something, specially when they are not making the Ford Gt. Nissan's got the Skyline, Gm the ZR1, Viper ACR, Audi 8. All Ford has now is the Shelby 500 which gets kicked around by a regular Vette.

RICK LAKE 03-14-2008 09:02 AM

You should be careful about baby talk

fsstnotch You better be careful about that baby talk.%/:rolleyes::D:LOL::LOL::LOL: Rick L.
