I personally want a modern super car that looks like a Cobra.

Yeah, I understand -- but the trickier issue that the Kirkhams, ERA, etc. are facing is "how far can we go to make our cars better if those improvements depart from a strict resemblance to the original cars?"

Rick:

Peter sold his 427 Cobra CSX3252 a couple of years back. It was subsequently sold at Russo and Steele auction for some 2 1/2 times your figure. We had more than one "knowledgeable expert" come up to us at a car show when it was parked along side Peter's ERA clone car and say that it wasn't an original Cobra.

Most folks don't have a clue as to what they're looking at

As for the prior post suggesting Peter Portante had an original FIA car he wanted to sell for $300k a couple of years ago, ah, no. He has never owned one.
