CSX3002 Replica For Sale

Saw this while surfing the net. I've seen this car before. Well done too with even the mixed gauges being used. Front flares aren't too correct but still very nice.

Looks to be Tim Gunnings car!
This is one of the best replicas out. You are correct, front flares are off however the car is masterfully executed.......
Very nice!

WTF? He had the original in his shop while creating the replica. Do you think it's fairly correct? He sold it years ago.

Except wheels, spinners, tires, and front fender flares, looks like a dead ringer replica! Nice job. What make did he start with, do we know?

"...Built out of aluminum by Hi-Tech in 1997"

Who made the aluminum bodies for HiTech?

John,
Easy now, nobody is slamming your friend, It has always been one of my all time favorite replicas. You have to admit it does have a little too much FIA in the front fenders. Regardless, if I had 120k it would be in my garage yesterday.

I thought HiTech's had fiberglass bodies. Guess I was wrong.

Some were made of ally, was Kimmons a HiTech or Shelby supplier of aluminum bodies?

You could order a glass car and option it with:
a. aluminum doors
b. aluminum trunk lid
c. aluminum hood

or

Order the entire body in aluminum.

I visited their Scottsdale, AZ shop in March 1994. Later that year they relocated to Tempe, AZ and I visited that shop in June 1994. They delivered my car in July 1994.

I knew they were in the Phx area. What happened to the company? Do they still produce cars?
Larry

They went bankrupt and were sued by a few people that lost their deposits, I guess.
Tim is a good man and knows a lot about the originals and helped me a lot with the Hi Tech I had and with the carbon car.

Tim now owns Sagebrush Roadsters and is still making cars. He can still make a 3002 copy.

Have any Sagebrush cars been completed?

A perusal of the website reveals many voids where text, pictures, specifications and pricing would be listed. The "last update" of the site is shown to be January 2008.

Just send some money and you might get a car. More money more money.

I am building the website for Tim. He is sending the last batch of information I need to complete it. I bought part of my frame and body from him and picked it up myself. I saw at least four cars being worked on all in different stages of completion.

Thats interesting about Sagebrush. Are the HiTech jigs/bucks/molds being used for the new company?
I did notice that in the pictures of his 3002 replica that the same front fender flares are being used as on the HiTech 3002 replica.

You're going to have to ask Tim about that.
He did have a couple jigs for frames set up, coolest things ever, everything bolted in place so it could be tacked together. Bins and bins of pre fabbed frame parts, fiberglass bodies and 289 and 427 frames under construction and he still had time to explain to me how the footboxes are installed and the proper screws to use, showed me rear end options and how they were mounted. Tim is a class act.
If you have a chance swing by his shop it is pretty cool.
