.

boxhead 05-25-2008 11:33 PM

It is $1.90 per litre in Alice Springs, Australia.
Converts to $6.004 per gallon in your talk.
Converted at .96aud to 1.00us

Lowest here right now is $4.09 for our low grade 89 octane and they told me next Tuesday that will jump to $4.19 when they get in the next load. Several places are already above the $5 range and it is just going to keep going up. I heard one person say it was over $6 at one of the Marinas but don't know if that is true or not. But they are like the race tracks. Buying gas there has always been much higher than getting it at the stations.

Paid $4.36 per gallon yesterday. Got about 18 miles to the gallon driving around with my wife.

We had a great time!

“Oil prices have gone from the mid $20 range in the fall of 2002 to $127 yesterday—a rise of $100/barrel in just over five years,” he says. “And the bulk of that increase can be attributed to the US wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and to the threats of war against Iran.” - Ismael Hussein-Zadeh, professor of economics at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa

Hey, but it was good for Cheney, who just bought a big house in Dubai, in addition to owning half of Jackson Hole.

Ron61 05-27-2008 02:56 AM

Wow,

I had to fill up as I have to go to my eye doctor tomorrow and now the lowest around here is $4.19 and it goes from there to $4.99 a gallon at some stations. Next week when I have to go back to the doctor, I would not at all be surprised to see some stations at over $5 a gallon. Boy, am I happy that I don't own a diesel.

This will seem unreal but read through the whole thing. Our gas for the cheapest regular unleaded is now $ 2.55 per gallon....however consider the following, the average person here makes about $125.00 per month and the fuel prices are heavily subsidized by the government.....and prices are controlled by the government.....and last week they just jacked up the price across the board for all fuel types including diesel 28 %. Needless to say there have been demonstrations and violent outbreaks on occasion and yesterday all the mini bus and regular buses went on strike as they can not raise fares until the government sets new fare schedules. Food and most home commodities are expected to raise about 10% over the next six months...no raise in pay in sight for Joe average. For some of us on the high end of wages and such, this is pretty painless. For our staff and employees, its really tough to ever see one's self getting ahead.

FatBoy 05-27-2008 06:23 AM

We're round about $9 a U.S. Gallon at the moment, but the price is going up on a daily basis.
There are a couple of fuel protests today where hundreds of truck drivers are blockading some main routes into London. I can't see it doing much good though to be honest.
The real sh1tter here is that about $1.50 of every litre is fuel tax and we then have to pay purchase tax on the fuel tax. !!:eek:

I always loved the number 427 until that is what it cost to get 1 gallon of 93 octane ....
$4.27 per gallon yesterday !!

CobraDan 05-27-2008 08:50 AM

I just brought in some sheep as it was cheaper than buying gas for the mower.

I just spent my tax refund at the gas station.

I just got back from a wedding and found out the bride and groom was registered at Shell, Mobil, BP and Texaco.

A Brinks truck was robbed yesterday but they left the money, and siphoned all the gas.

SP01715 05-27-2008 12:34 PM

Gas is over $4:00 for regular here in San Diego, but what really sucks is diesel is over $5.00. I think the diesel truck is going to be parked and I am going to start looking for a gas vehicle for the daily driver.

Randy Rosenberg 05-27-2008 03:45 PM

The Tosoro gas station outside of Kailua-Kona was selling gas yesterday at $4.26 for regular, $4.36 and $4.46 for medium and premium.

greg schroeder 05-27-2008 03:58 PM

About 7.50 to 8.00 a gallon. I use out of pump 100 octane. There are a few locations around town in the Scottsdale, Phoenix area.
