Rear license plate bracket broke off
My rear license plate bracket broke off. By the time I got back to it (4 lane) the plate was beyond recognition. The holder itself broke, at the bend, just bellow the light.
My car is an A&C. I looked at a new one from Finish Line Inc. I couldn’t find any specs like bolt whole center. Would you expect it to fit? Do most of these accessories interchange from brand to brand? |
I believe they are pretty much universal. I've never seen any measurements on the frames.... Finishline might tell you the measurement if you call and ask real nice :)

My Finishline one broke in the same place. I made my own out of angle stock.

Thanks for the info Rosco.
I took Pgermonds advise and call Finishline. It will fit so I ordered the front and rear, as my car is missing the front and Ohio does require a front tag. The origonal was aluminum. Maybe I should consider laying a bead of weld over bend areas and beef it up a bit. |
Hey olddog, The FFR license plate brackets are noted for breaking. The fix : go to Home Depot, buy the smallest piece of straight stock alumunim, go home and measure the broken one, use a hack saw and cut the aluminum piece to the correct size. Measure and bend the piece, test fit, drill two holes of a larger size for the license plate bolts and two holes for the trunk mounting. Done.
