The wives or better half's who enjoy our Cobras seem to be the rule and not the exception. I too am lucky to have a wife that eats and breaths Cobras with me but she still will not drive them. Cathy is great and can identify any part on the car or build. This is a real change as nobody on her side of the family knows how to do anything but call the dealer for anything car related. They too love to go for rides but are in awe of the cars.

Looks like we are a lucky bunch in many ways. Being able to share the enjoyment of these cars and more importantly the people they bring together makes me very thankful.

Well, I don't even have my car yet and I have a story already. First, it appears the customs agents like to look at these things as well. They have had the container for four days so far.

As for the wife, I started out looking at Bug Eye Sprites as my Dad had one when I was a kid. My grandfather also owned a Ford dealership in the 60's so I remember the Cobra and all the dinner talk. My uncle really wanted it. He had to settle for a Torino Boss. My grandfather had a pair of '69 429 Boss Mustangs, one he drove, one he didn't. He also had '30's Jaguars, '50's Packards and a 41 Lincoln Continental Mark I.

Ok, now on to the wife. She was never around my grandparents when they had all the cars so she just does not understand, but when I started sourcing the Bug Eye and told her about it (did not cost much), she told me to "forget the go-cart and get what I really want". She still makes comments, but I just remind her that "she doesn't need to understand". I don't understand the aspiration to emmulate Imelda Marcos in the shoe department either.

Now, last week she calls me from her car all excited. She just saw a blue Cobra and it was really "cute". She can't wait to drive around in it. Now, I later made some comment about her not being able to drive it and she started to get a little pissy, until I backtracked and covered myself, rather nicely if I do say so myself, by telling her it was a manual, not automatic. She then agreed that it probably was not a good idea for her to drive it. We'll see.

My wife, Danielle, loves the car Spring/Summer/Fall
She hates it when winter arrives since that means time in the garage and $$$ out of the bank. I still say it is cheaper than a shrink and it always makes house calls.

Talking Send gearhead DNA for wife...soon

OK guys, I have lurked here for a long time and kept quiet. Now I need a favor. What DNA string do all your wives have that makes them love these cars? I too married my high school sweet heart, but she missed out on the car DNA. My son and I are going to London for the weekend to live vicariously among all your beautifil cars (hoping to win the raffle car).
