Dex..

In my experience most of the guys with REAL money are actually good people. The people that want people to think they have big money are the a$$holes.

I have generally found no relationship between being an asshole and having or not having money, nor, between those that earned it or inherited it. I have met assholes in every finacial strada, and driving all types of cars. As far as the original owner that is the subject of this thread, it would seem to be heresay at this point.

I guess you have never been to the Newport Beach area in Southern California. lol...

I have only one thing to say, "Any fool can criticize, condemn, and complain---and most fools do!"

It's all about money and stupidity...have fun, Bill

My personal observations have shown that there is a greater frequency of "those kinds" of people when they do have large sums of money. However, here in Silicon Valley, and living close to the VC capital of the world, most of the money has neither been inherited or earned, but rather stolen from shareholders.:LOL::LOL:

And even more so, Chuck.

FFRCobraMike neglected to point out here what he posted on FFCobra:

Howard said in his e-mail that it was an original AC Bristol
...so, it wasn't really a Cobra owner, but rather a Bristol owner.

I am uncomfortable seeing how this discussion is evolving, and I have to ask FFRCobraMike what was the benefit of starting this thread with the tone you used?

Actually after a quick look at your participation here, it seems you visit ClubCobra more to piss in the pool, rather than swim....so to speak.

Carmel Concours Replica Controversy
Comp Cams Lies to Better Business Bureau
Comp Cams Bad Tech Support Blew my Engine

I won't close this thread right now, but I'm real close.

The absence of the Bristol fact and the reference to Cobra owners in a broad brush is just unneeded controversy.

I agree this entire thread makes no sense, should not have been started, and is utterly retarded.

RON

I tried to send this as a private message, but as you can't seem to keep your mailbox from being full, I have no alternative but to air dirty laundry in public like you seem to do.

I feel your reply was completely inappropriate. If you have something like that to say, it should have been on a PM! I have posted many positive items including a post on a licensed shelby die cast. Instead of any positive responses, all I got was made fun of! I did not see you step in there. If you have a personal problem with my posts, then it should be handled personally and not in the public forum. I feel it is important to view problems as well as positives. What if a rip off mechanic was working in your neighborhood. Would you rather nobody said anything and you would have to find out about it yourself, the hard way. I have posted invites to cruises and get togethers. and all sorts of positive items. If this forum only allows positive posts then it is just as much censorship as any other kind. This is a FREE country and unless you want to make it like Germany in the 30;s and 40's, then people should feel free to express their opinions. If you don't believe that, then perhaps you should not be a moderator of this forum! Maybe it is YOU that needs censoring! :p

A$$holes are a part of our world. No matter what they drive, what they wear, or where they live, they just cannot keep from telling themselves they are better than someone else. I really don't think it's about money, just very insecure people trying to climb up and be recognized. They will usually never respect themselves, in my opinion.

On so many levels, I disagree with this argument. Maybe it's hyperbole, but comparing Ron's moderation of this private forum has no comparison to Nazi Germany. Please close the thread.

I actually bought one of these engines. Story was a '68 GT500KR had a blown motor (short Block), and was replaced with a 427 short block, keeping the 428 CJ heads, intake, and carb. So, this engine was really a 427 CJ.

I now need to put the date matching heads/intake on ebay for sale when I get a chance.

Funny thing, FFRCobraMike...read your entire response to Ron, and nowhere do I see one word of explanation of why you didn't explain in this thread that the car was a Bristol AC and not an original Cobra.

Hell, some REALLY REAL AC folks hate ALL Cobras, original or not, as a basturdization of their marque.

Even after Ron pointed out the further explanation you left at the FFR place...you still didn't come back and correct this thread. Sorta like laying a turd on the run and leaving for everyone else to smell.

Not good form.

This thread is closed.

Jamo 07-14-2008 05:10 PM

Hmmm...noticed you REMOVED all of your posts over at the FFR site thread you started.

I really don't like it when folks do that kind of thing to cover up their tracks after starting sh!t...intellectually dishonest. Asspecially after they jump all over a moderator who called them on it.

Enjoy some time off and think about your actions. It is a free country...but it's a regulated one.
