Jag rear end / stud question

I want to replace the lug nut studs with longer one on a Jag rear end. Can I press them out and press new ones in?

No. Standard XJ studs are threaded into the hub and then peened over on the inside. You have to grind the peen off to unscrew them. I forget the thread offhand...

Dwight,

I needed studs a bit longer than the stock length ones and found these: http://www.jagbits.com/mm5/merchant....yMechanical_50
or here: http://www.importpartsspec.com/cart/show/item/235445

They're also about 1/2 the price of the stock ones. You might want to verify with the vendor that they are truly 1/4" (or more) longer than stock before you order them.

CWI: http://www.cwiinc.com/index.html put them in for me

Hope this helps,

Tom
