Will Carroll Shelby/SAI be at SAAC 33
Does anyone know if CS/SAI will be at SAAC 33 and if so will they/he be there?
Perhaps Amy can answer this question.

Ron: Right, CS and company refused to put any SAAC event on their schedule.

I know that's a serious question coming the Counselor, but are you serious?
Didn't he say that he would never attend another SAAC event or something to that effect? I would think you would have a better chance of the Pope attending.

Well Evan, I hope you're happy...you started this one!
And again you've stirred up the masses!
Poor Ol Shel is gonna be headless by page 2
Can't we go for more than a week without dumpin' on the old man?
If Shel shows, let's welcome him like any other Cobra enthusiast; if he doesn't show I am sure SAAC will stll have a wonderful event.

It's up to CS. The show will go on. I think the event will be just fine if they have good weather. Rick L.

You gotta a better chance of seeing Jesus Christ there driving Rick's car on track than CS attending!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Come on Evan, really, considering all than has taken place, do you for one New York minute really think CS would consider showing up even with a gold plated engraved invitation???????????
BTW: I hear one of the crankoids may be dressed up as CS, but that imposter should be easy to spot.......
Regardless, you should try to attend............
David

okee-dokee, didn't know..........it was meant in good fun, not trying to fan any flames...

Thanks Ron for the simple and succint answer. Thats all I wanted to know.
Of course the usual peanut gallery chimmed in with the usual assundry of idiotic comments. Oh, in case the crowd here didn't know there was a thread on SAAC forum dealing with this very issue in which many members were hoping SAI did show up. I also received information from a good source that Shelby was involved to some extent with Thunderbolt Raceway and planned to be there for the openning which is the same weekend as ...yes...SAAC 33.
Boy don't you guys look stupid now.
|
I have not seen anywhere where Shelby had anything to do with the track, maybe you could let us know whom your "good source" is to verify this info???????Seems your "good source" is not very good as others have proved your info wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As to the peanut gallery name, well, I've been called worse, just remember, you started this thread/pi$$ing match, not the "peanut gallery".... you should have posted your question on the TS site........
and being in your line of work, you above others, should know or at least have reason to know that CS showing up under the current circumstances is not going to happen, yet you started the thread, also, knowing another pi$$ing match would evolve......
everytime that you have "opened your mouth" latley, you surely put your big foot right in it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BTW: You going to SAAC 33???????
David (aka: peanut gallery)

Real 1, you must have been the arrogant little kid in school that got his ass kicked after school everyday. They must tell you at the high school reunions that you have not changed one bit, or maybe you don't go to your high school reunions because there probably would be a line of guys still waiting to kick your arrogant ass!

Amy B made a post over on the "official" Shelby forum pretty much stating that Shelby helped design it.....I guess because it came from SAI's official spokesperson (Hi Amy), it must be true

Quoting from the NJMP website:
"American racing icon Carroll Shelby has lent his expertise to the developers of New Jersey Motorsports park, a new multi-use racing facility in southern New Jersey. As one of the leading Motorsports and automotive minds in the history of the industry, Shelby has for the first time helped collaborate on a new Motorsports facility."
End quote.
The track was developed by the same team that did VIR. As far as Mr. Shelby's "collaborating" or "lending expertise"....well he has done that most of his career and in the process laid claimed to many things that were successful due to the sweat of the folks that worked for him. You can't honestly think that he designed the course/facility...that's just laughable.
