Original style electric fuel pumps - where to buy?

What type were the original trunk mounted dual electric fuel pumps? Are they still available and where? If not, is there a modern pump that is available that looks similar? I'd like to get either a correct looking setup in my trunk, or something close. Ideas, anyone? Thanks

Stewart Warner 240A or 240Ds are what you want. They bring good money nowadays. The last pair I sold on ebay went for $660 and needed to be rebuilt. Wish I hadn't sold them, but needed the money at the time.

Modern CSXs come with dual Facet blue dot pumps in the trunk. Some Cobra restorers use them too. They are about $130 a piece if I recall.

Does anyone have any idea where to buy these Facet Blue Dot pumps?

Try here: http://facet-purolator.com/index.php...d=14&Itemid=36

They look vintage if you run two together. I think aircraft spruce sells them also.

Original Pumps

I have many, many original pumps.. If you're going to take the time to install electric pumps in your trunk,, do it the correct way with the correct pumps.

I have pumps in various conditions, from NOS to dirty but working. The SW pumps were indestructible. You could throw then in a river for 5 years, pull them out let them dry, and hook 'em up.

OK, guys - I'm resurrecting an old thread here. I need to buy the fuel pumps now, I'm at that part of the build. The Stewart Warner's are great, but they're unfortunately out of my price range. I have to go with the Facets. Has anyone actually used these? Exactly what is the model number, there are so many different ones. Can any of you guys with a CSX car run out to your car and see if there is a model number on them? I'm going to be running either a 3/8 or 1/2" fuel line, (482" 620 HP stroker FE) and it seems the Facets are all 1/4" fittings. Will a pair of these pumps with only 1/4" fittings restrict the fuel flow into the bigger fuel line? Will I have enough fuel for this engine? Any and all info on the proper way to do this is appreciated. Proper plumbing diagrams (Series or Parallel) for hooking up the pair would be great too. Will I need a pressure regulator for running a pair of these? Thanks.

I went out and took this picture of the fuel pumps and tried to look on top of either of them and all I could make out was "Genuine ...... Made in USA". I looked all around and under them with a small mirror and couldn't see any numbers. You might want to call the Cobra shop manager, Tony, at SAI or Bud in CSX parts. I looked at the facet-purolator website and it appears the FEP 59SV is what these are.

If you're running a Holley or similar carb, no regulator needed. They put out about 6 psi. I think these are -8 AN fittings on 3/8" ID line. No return line. Good luck.

I might be interested in a pair of working pumps. I am using a 42 gallon tank with no fuel guage, just a reserve switch. Any idea how to install the pumps for this kind of set up. Do you get the switch operate one pump at a time?

If your post is directed to me, not only do I have many pumps, but I have SW paper work on how to install, trouble shoot etc. PM me.

Anyone have any thoughts on this part of the question?

Yep. It's not a CSX so it'll never be "correct" but I try to get the major visuals correct.

You might want to do what I plan to do on my car...

Put a real modern fuel pump under the car, and mount the vintage pumps in the trunk "dummied up" with the lines going through the floor and ending there. :)

Either way (and I like that idea), I have to find the darn things!
