Hi Sean,
I'm going to be over on the west side of Hartford in the Avon area. We are still looking at a house there. I'll knwo for sure if we have it this week. It would be nice to get to know people in CT, don't have any friends there. Thanks for the show info! Hope I have time.

Yes I guess I am, but I am so glad to be leaving the taxation state ;). My wife pulled a great job in Hartford so it can't be that bad. My company is transferring me to Harford as well thank god, didn't want to have to look for employment. The mass exodus from your state has also made housing costs attractive...we'll see what happens. Either way it's good to know a few people there. All my friends are here. I have lived in the same town in Upstate New York for 40 years and I am only 41 years old. Funny thing is I was born in New London, CT.

Hey Johnny! When are you making your escape? NC right? I am hoping to meet up with you guys soon, but this has been a crazy year. CT is nice, at least the parts I have seen around Canton and Avon. We found a nice place up in the woods, just like where we are leaving from. Still in negotiations. Not to many local car guys in town as far as I can see. Hope to find some.

Mike,

As soon as the real estate market comes back, me and the missus hope to make a quick sale and get out. I have a 'handshake deal' with my boss (who is in FL) that I can work full time from home in NC.....but that could change as Corp IT direction changes daily.

I am completing my last big project in the house now which explains my lack of racing this season. We're making another trek down in November to narrow down our search regardings towns that appeal to us and can get the most for our money. We'd like to be in or near the mountains in wester NC if possible.

CT emissions: For production cars, must pass the emissions standard for the year of the make/model which since approx 1996 ( + or - ) is via a cable hook up to the vehicles recorder/diagnostic unit.

Do not know specifics, but in some cases the dyno will be used to obtain an emissions reading

The most recent change, if the Check Engine light has been re-set, the emissions testing system will invalidate the test until approx 7 days have elapsed. If the Check Engine light is on, the garage will not test the vehicle.

There are additional CT emissions web sites, 2 are

Additional:

"On-Board Diagnostics, or "OBD," is a computer-based system built into all 1996 and later light-duty vehicles and trucks, as required by the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990. OBD systems are designed to monitor the performance of some of an engine's major components including those responsible for controlling emissions"
