Driving

A sixty five degree day here at the shore. Did about an hour and bumped into a gentleman in a Shelby 4000 or 7000 series car as well. A little red light grand prix was held.

Glorious!

Five of us just took a cruise through the Central California foothills today to celebrate a buddy's brand new arruminum CSX that has been under construction for several years. Beautiful blue skies, snow on the highest peaks of the Sierras, light traffic and five big blocks rumbling through the valleys and canyons.

50s...hey, that's sorta cold.

If it's warm enough to go outside, then it's warm enough to fire up the Snake...even though snakes hate cold weather....yep people do roll down their windows to hear a Cobra go by...neat to pull up to a stoplight and the car in the next lane roll down the window and give the ol thumbs up....then I usually give him a treat...if the doglaw ain't around.....nobody ever got sick from smokin their tires.......

Yep
Its snowing like crazy. Expect to get at least 6 inches of the white stuff today and at least a 300% increase in traffic accidents tonight.

I once drove to San Francisco in the WINTER (December, just before Christmas) across the Nevada high desert. It was 13 degrees (without the wind chill) in Nevada. This picture is taken at the top of Donner pass. Every time I pass that place it gives me the creeps...especially in WINTER!

46 degrees, 2 hour ride, $2 gas and a bunch of two lane twisties. What a great way to start the new year.

I routinely drive in the cold. I jump at every opportunity to drive the cobra. Gloves, gator neck wrap, insulated coveralls and clear safety glasses get it done for me.

The coldest I have driven is 33 degrees (F). I leave for work around 5:30 am (40 mile drive one way) and it is always dark and I don't get the benefit of any solar heat:eek::( I didn't remeber installing a heater in the cobra when I built it, but apparently there is one connected to the throttle!:3DSMILE::cool:

David, If you get trapped you can eat the Cobra.

winter drive

Lainhart came to pick up his Cobra today and we went for a ride. I drove to Loretto, Tn, 30 or 40 miles and he drove back. 58 degrees, overcast with misty rain, well almost rain. Nice ride. He drove back to Madison, Al about 70 miles. Great little trip.

what cold weather?

Drove 45 miles to the annual Nashville Autofest last weekend. Weather was a balmy 21 degrees with 20 below windchill. Stayed warm in my new Moto Lita RAF leather/sheepskin flying helmet and RAF goggles. Check'em out. Got a bunch of great looks going down the freeway. Won a top 50 trophy too. :)

Winter Drive Time

 55f today. It felt like California out here in the Mid-Atlantic area today. I got 2 1/2 hours in the Cobra. Sunny skys and cheap gas. Life doesn't get much better. That may help my withdrawal issues for a while. You don't have to live in the desert southwest or any areas prone to earthquakes:eek:. What a day!

Cobra and the Deere

Some may drive their Cobra in the winter occasionally. Yep, I run with my hardtop in the winter months, but my SPF is driven to work daily - rain, sun or snow. Winter driving is definately "exciting" in a Cobra, even after 7 years. The Yokohamas do a commendable job in the snow!!!
