David-Have you considered making a billet coolant overflow tank that would look at home in the engine compartment and would be track day compliant? Maybe something that would look similar to the hydraulic cans but larger.

I have the Jamo Special from Summit and I can't get over the the hose clamps. It is functional, but not as aesthetically pleasing as it could be. I know you guys could fab a trick tank that both the BB and SB guys would love.

You guys win. We'll start tomorrow on the new billet radiator catch tank. David :):):) |
Sweet...

There is an Allah...only three years!!!
Ok...same or slightly larger diameter as the reservoir tanks, just longer. Petcock at the bottom and a tube so we can attach a rubber line that will let it drain out below the frame (buy a cheap plastic Summitt one like JJ and I use and you'll see). The top can be a threaded cap, but with a fitting to accept the line from the expansion tank. Use the same mounting setup...we can either put it next to the reservoirs or on the passenger side (my expansion tank has the cap/pverflow fitting on that side...don't ask me why, you installed it just to make me feel special I guess, and no, I haven't installed that shiney sucker you sent me cuz I'm lazy). Don't get fancy...KISS!!! Feel free to etch "Jamo Dump" on the side. Bite me. :p |
Do you all want something like this that is welded, or do you want a billet part?
http://www.cantonracingproducts.com/...ion&key=80-205 Let me know! David :):):) |

Personally, I like the looks of a fabed one vs a billet one. I'd want it simple looking too.
I wouldn't want it to be polished either because I like vintage/comp look stuff. That's just me though. Larry |
I prefer the billet look as it would match the brake/clutch cans as well as the billet surge tank.
Jason |
Yup...make it match it match your reservoirs.
|
We are running into a volume and space problem. Still thinking on this one. It is not as easy as we first thought.
David :confused::confused::confused: |
I was at the Miller Motorsports Museum on Tuesday and one of the Comp 427's has a tank (painted plastic bottle) mounted in about the same place as the Jamo Special (on the top of the triangular cross member, passenger side). A billet tank with a tube mount (and a slot for the brake line) might be a good compromise.

David the ones you pointed out as examples are only 24 oz. Don't most tracks require a one quart capacity?
I say match it to the reserviors. |
I just received my surge tank today and it is sweet!
It's going right on the dining room table as a center piece!! To hell with the car! Larry |

The poll above is quite interesting. We have sold way more of these than people who voted against it. I wonder why they don't want it??? Maybe if they saw it in real life they would change their mind. David :):):) |

How about the passenger fenderwell over the exhaust? Still somewhat visible but out of the way. |
