				 Help me paint my Cobra
Can anyone tell me if Cobras ever came with Yellow and Black Strips.
Also Does anyone have pics of Cobras in these colors

 Yellow w Black Strips
 Black w/ Yellow Strips
Titanium Silver w/ yellow strips ( just kidding)
 Titanium w/ black strips

And I guess any other color the look good besides:

 Blue w/ strip
 or
 Red w/ strip

No offense... looks awsome it just has been done to death

I am looking to paint my car soon and looking to make up my mind. Some people are steering me away from Yellow w/ Black strips so I want to see if anything else will do it for me.

This is the hardest part of the build

 Thanks this might work.
Only problem is if I find a color it might be difficult to get the paint code

Here's a picture of Chuck (Vanoochka's) yellow SPF. Looks awesome in person. Not sure what the color is (not a stock SPF color).
You can't miss with titanium with black stripes though.
Don't let anyone talk you out of the color you want.

Most everybody's got either blue, red or some sort of silver. You gotta do it your way! If you want it yellow & black, just do it.

				 Cobra Color
I understand your concern with Yellow w/black stripes. My cobra is Chrysler Solar Yellow w/ black stripes. My concern (and my wifes) is that the color would turn out school bus yellow. There are some pics in my photo gallery. If you want more pics or a better description of the yellow on the car let me know. We've had a lot of compliments on the car.

				 Help me paint my cobra
Silver with black stripes is cool and appears to be coming the colour of choice at present.
I wonder why white with blue stripes isnt used that much sort of American racing colours, I guess people will think it looks like a Mustang, but who cares what people think!!!!!

Page 16 of Dave Friedman's book,"Cobra" states that the very first Cobra in the US was painted pearlescent yellow by Dean Jeffries, then it was repainted different colors to make folks think there was more than one. In the same book, is a photo of Allen Grant's Coventry Motors Cobra with a yellow/black color scheme designed by some guy named George Lucas who some might have heard of.....check out the push truck too. Lastly on page 91, is a photo of one of the racers made by Shelby and company for sale (new) in a pale yellow.
In another book, AC Cobra by Rinsey Mills, on page 42/43 is CSX 2128 in black with yellow stripes and in the same book, page 81, page 111 and 115 show **** ( I thnk) in light blue with the front yellow/white stripes.

Yellow definitely has a history with the Cobra.

Don't let anyone talk you out of the color you want. | The yellow appears to be the same as mine, and it's a stock SPF color. |

				 Paint color
About yellow....yellow is a hugh bug magnet. When you park a yellow car at a show or cruisin...after a few minutes the bugs start to crawl all over it. At least thats the way it is here in the midwest.
Someone mentioned white with blue stripe. You don't see many that way, but the ones I have seen really look stunning.

I think the original Shelby Team color was Portofino Blue. You don't see many with that specific blue paint. It looks great though.

Mine is Blue Blood Red (SG 105) w/white stripe. The red is the brightest red I have seen. People are always commentiing and asking what color it is.

If I was doing another, it would probably be the Portifino Blue, of course I am an old fart and pretty much a traditionalist.

Take you time, paint is expensive...Bob
