Default Taylor Plug Wires

I have Taylor Pro Race Spiro 1.5mm plug wires on my Cobra. Went to pull a plug, and it came out with the connector still on it. Probably know the answer, but wondered if anyone has run into this.

OK, before I get bashed, they are 10.5mm wires, not 1.5mm..

Never had that problem with mine, and I have had them on and off many, many times.

Mine are the 8.5 or 9.0 (sorry, don't remember for sure) size.

A little silicone grease inside the boot prior to putting the wire on the plug will minimize that. When you pull the plug wire twist the boot back and forth rotationally on the plug before trying to pull it off. You'll feel it release. Then you can pull it off without leaving the guts in place. It's easier said then done on some plug wires due to accessibility.

It's not just a Taylor wire thing.

I've seen two types of terminals, the ones with the little teeth punched out in the back hold better.

As stated, apply dielectric grease to the inside of the boots. (not really the problem here though) When removing I try to grip the boot right where the terminal is to avoid this happening.

Personally, I've found factory type wire sets are of better quality than most of these "performance" mfgs.
