				 Another Newbie and Dumb!
Hello All,Yes, I'm another almost new owner. I'm probably like many of you who opened a June '66 or so issue of HotRod mag and saw the test on a red Shelby Cobra roadster and have been hankering ever since. I just recently bought my SPF 2765 roller from Dynamic Auto West from Redwood City California and the install will be at Full Throttle in Reno, Nevada.
My question to Californians is this: how do you get away without a front license plate? I'm sure this has been dealt with before but I'm old and slow.
 Thanks, Cliff

I have driven my Cobra over 60,000 miles over the last 7 years without a front license plate with no problems. I have even gotten some "radar" tickets for 80 or so on the freeways, and have passed many, many cops going the other direction (but never been stopped), with no mention of the front license plate being not there. I wouldnt worry about it. Besides, a LOT of older classic cars are running around with no front plate.

 Cliff,
Congratulations on the purchase of your SPF. Stephen at Full Throttle is great to work with and you'll be really happy with the car.

Ditto what Mr. Celby said. Few people run a front plate and I don't anyone who has gotten busted for it. I've heard conflicting info, but it's my understanding that there's now a small fine tied to the fix-it ticket. If you get a ticket, you can always hang the front plate on to get it signed off.

Are you located in the Bay Area?

Thanks guys. Doug, no I'm in the central valley between Fresno and Bakersfield where it's really hot, hence the air that I will be installing. Tried to make it to the shindig opening Dennis put on but no show.

 | Ahh, you'll be in good company with that nefarious outlaw group known as the Central Valley Cobra Club.
Post some pics when you take delivery.

 Cliff,
Congratulations on becoming a new Cobra owner, hope to be one soon myself! Dennis and crew put on a great open house.

As mentioned above, lots of vintage cars do not run a front plate and the same can be said for ( dare I say it ... ) Corvettes. Once is a while you will see a C5 of C6 with a front plate, but not very often, at least not in the Bay Area.
