Amy,
Since the Series 2 cars are a conglomeration (or hybrid) of GM, Ford and Shelby parts as well as a hybrid of gasoline and electric power, would it be appropriate to call the car a "hybrid green hybrid"? Also couldn't you recharge the batteries even faster with a one of your new light weight 351W V8 motors than a 4 cylinder. Quote:

Amy, I'll delete the pictures. ron ClubCobra Moderator |
Thanks Ron, I appreciate it, Carroll has already gotten calls and it is causing me a bit heartburn.....
Jamo, Sorry, I know you run an open board, but this is causing me a lot of grief. Amy |
CW...trade secret? How are they any different than the SCM pics? Once something is "published" by the "owner" it really doesn't have the protection...Amy's comments in the article seem to confirm.
If you feel strongly...I guess it's better to err on the side of being mucho muy careful. ;) Amy...no problem, we simply find ourselves in the middle sometimes. |

There are spy photos of new cars all the time. No one has a copyright on the photos I posted. SCM leaked the story, go bug Keith Martin! I think I may just post the pictures again. Ernie |
I think I tend to agree. no one stopped the man from taking the pictures.
and the story is out in the open now. I think I read in a Wallace Weiss book that about 500 Series 1s were built but only about 240 were completed and sold. They were all considered 1999 models no matter when they were delivered. The remaining 260 cars never got engines. He doesn't know where they are presently. So it makes sense that there are a lot of parts at the ready. all we need now is a picture of ol' Shel standing over a hybrid motor in the shop, just like that old picture of him and Hurlock over the Ford V-8 |
Well, you have a pretty low post count to be complaining. I'm going to accept the moderators decision to remove my very mildly pornographic outtake pictures of the models with the Series 2 Green Bikinis and the Series 2 Green roadster.

Here are some pictures of a Series 2 prototype at SAAC does Vegas X in 2006.
http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...ium/022_20.JPG http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...ium/021_19.JPG I was able to tour the building behind the car at the time, which had partially completed Series 2 cars, but was told I could not take pictures in that building. The guys giving me that tour claimed that the cars would be fully federal compliant as 2007 cars. I guess that plan changed and the new plan is for the hybrid. |
OK I dont post often... but this screams BS to me!
Not so much of Shelby trying to unload the remaining Series 1/2's whatever as green cars with small 4cyl and battery's..... yeah.... good luck with that! But the last part of that SCM article stated... Ms Boylan announced that component Cobras produced by Shelby Automobiles will now accommodate Ford 4-cyl and Ford V6 engines only. "We must do our part in the "greening" of high performance sport cars. Other than the present in house orders, the V8 option will no longer be available. Shelby dealers will be instructed that they will not be able to install V8 engines in any Cobra." So if I called up Shelby... ordered a CSX car... I can no longer get it with a V8 engine? You have got to be kidding? Tell me this is an April Fools joke! |

Look...it can be assplained in one of two ways: 1. We tend to be shy about letting Club Cobra getting stuck in the middle of stuff. While I'm not sure the pics are a problem from a legal standpoint, the other moderator thinks it's too close to call, and we'll always err on the safe side for the sake of the community at large. or... 2. Bite me. Leave it be. |
Who cares about the pictures....
Nobody else see the white elephant in the room with us? |

Thanks, Ernie |
According to that article... One can no longer order a CSX Shelby Cobra with a V8?
Only 4 or 6's? It doesnt state a Series 1 or 2.... just simply Cobra... maybe I am reading too much into this. I mean hell... why not just say only Chebby engines are allowed now!? Who is going to put a v6 or God forbid a 4cyl engine into a Cobra? |

Jamo,
Do you think if I put about 6 or 8 of those "censored" rectangles that you use on your butt on my Series 2 Green bikini girl pictures that they might no longer cross the line? Ernie Quote:
