Hey, that looks great and is a far cry from what we built when I was a kid for Soap Box Racing. Good luck with both builds.

Ron :)

We entered a few years ago for St Louis, We made the first few cuts but our beginning skit kept us out of the running. Make sure you have an entertaining skit. The vehicle is the easy part. You Could probably dress up Like Shelby and have your team dress as lawyers. Maybe with the powdered wigs, passing out Lawsuits??? Good luck, looks like quite a bit of fun.

Hi Richard
First of all there's strict policy for suppliers on this forum (please refer to site owner)
Second; soapbox is without any powertrain (engine, transmission & differential etc.)
Third; weight target for soapbox is 80 kg. so, there is no change to add sidepipes etc. even for appearance
fourth; I'm not your potential customer since I've built chassis, body & hardtop (from 3d model, mold, product), all shinny parts from 316 marine grade stainless steel for my pet project which is 289 from scratch.
Regards

Short Cobra

Whoa that was fast!

How did you build the body so quickly?!

Pop a light fiberglass body out of your mold and then cut it in two?

Is it full width but just shortened?

I really like it!

Ozgur_Tan 04-16-2009 12:50 PM

yes cut & paste
full width because I need room for my team mate

Hey "Cobra Lite"
What about critical dimensions (front/rear track and wheelbase) of your project ?
I'm gonna start install running train next week @ mini-me
weight of mini-me bodyshell is 15 kg (33 lb ?)
Peace

Mini-Me

15 kg?! Is that just one layer of fiberglass or did you use Carbon Fibre?

Fantastic project that will be very eye catching!

I'm looking forward to seeing your frame design and especially what wheels & tires you will use. Low friction & ultra light bicycle rims or what? **)

I won't know my project dimensions until I can get an appropriate donor for the rear end. I have Miata front hubs, uprights, and brake assemblies now. So just looking for the diff, axles, and so on to set the rear track width. It will be Mini-Me's big brother

Mini-Me Two?
